I still think Baez is a bit overvalued right now. He's had the benefit of a relatively easy draw this week. Despite playing the entirety of the Golden Swing, his best wins have come against Monteiro and Garin. That isn't saying much.
I'm going to have to roll with the veteran Ramos who's been in this position many times before. I think Baez will show his true colors as a flashy but still immature player. I'm imagining a repeat of the Cordoba final between Tabilo and Ramos here in Santiago - perhaps with a different outcome this time.

Damn, Baez looked incredible today. Over the past few weeks, I saw him spraying lots of balls out of play. Incredible control today, though. I'm going to assume this wasn't a fluke and that Baez has worked a lot on his control or is just getting a lot more comfortable on court and in big matches. The power is obviously there.
I'm taking Baez to win the title tomorrow with no regrets. He's also going to have the crowd factor. Crowd hated Pedro today for a variety of reasons (valid and not valid) and booed him through the post-match interview.

He did a successful underarm serve in the 2nd and the fans boo'd him immensely (to the surprise of the commentators). Then he took a Tsitsipas style bathroom break at the end of the 2nd set and came back with a towel around his neck, while Tabilo was already up and waiting at his end of the court. Then he had a fan removed for saying something. It felt like fans were whistling on every one of his serves in the 3rd basically. Boos continued into the post-match interview! The fans were wildin. Outside of the bathroom break, I thought the reactions were pretty uncalled for. Fans were just bitter he was beating their hometown kid and were doing anything they could to try to revive Tabilo.
