Barty ML -118....pure fade on mommy, you cant just pick up a racquet after all this time away and expect to beat a legit top 20 player who has power and plays an aggressive baseline game backed up with a heavy 1st serve.

Not sure i agree with this, however its not her fault the level of competition for the majority of her career was practically non-exsistent...lets face it, same thing happened with Tiger Woods...when they dominated it was also a perfect time for them to rack up historical numbers and titles because the people around them werent that good....Serena accomplished exactly what she should have given the womens game over the past 15 years....its always like that with the womens game....Martina only had the occasional loss to Evert when she was racking up titles, but everyone else really sucked...womens sports are just different

Serena is an underperformer? Then what is Georgetown basketball? What a complete disgrace they have become.

Serena won a massive amount of slams after Clijsters, Henin, Capriati, Hingis, etc all retired.
Cane you tell me really any hall of fame type player in the current crop of players?
Wozniaki? Eh
Halep?
Pliskova?

23 majors is 23 majors. Come on. You wanna argue about Goat status with Graf, fine but to call someone with the most majors ever "the biggest underperformer of all time" is bordering on sheer lunacy.

She had a winning head to head against all of Henin, Hingis, Clijsters, what are you even talking about? And her sister Penis Williams is a hall of famer in any era.

3-4 against Capriati at slams
3-4 against Henin at slams
2-1 against Hingis at slams
2-1 against Clijsters both wins 7-5 in third
Even record against those 4 players at slams
Since 2009 Serena has beaten the likes of Safina, Safarova, Zveroneva, Radwanska, Wozniaki, Kerber to win her slams. Along with Azarenka/Sharapova
Shes won 10 slams from age of 31+, shows the joke WTA has become

Its tough to say. Maybe Serena just needed to kick off rust. Barty will make her work much more than Pliskova. Based on what I saw the other day Serena will lose this match but we cant, and probably shouldnt, assume she will be quite as poor as she was in her first match back after all the time off. It's a pass for me because of the unknowns.

Dimitri...good points, however Serenas odds at 17-1 is laughable...and only this low because of all the blind sheep public bettors who bet 50 or 100 on her automatically regardless of anything else....shes a name brand only at this moment in time....her realistic odds should have been atleast 50-1 in the real world but we know how the books need to protect themselves in spots like these...exactly how they priced Tiger to win the Masters last month...totally laughable....name brands and liability is how the books bleed bad sports bettors dry year after year.
