Begu plaged great last week, she should have won against Sakkari but chocked under pressure in the third. Especially her serving game was really impressive
Yastermaska beating Clara was really impressive until you look at the third set stats.
clara did only manage 30% first serves…
If Begu can keep serving like last week she will definitely get a lot of chances in this game.
I also like Popyrin he has played really good in his recent matches but has fallen short. He is due for a win now!

Yeah Bjorn. Plenty of red flags in all of Yastremska’s qualifier wins if you just look at the stats. She nearly let Brengle back into that match last night, too. I think Begu’s maturity, experience, and decent power makes her a clear favorite here. Hoping for Yastremska’s characteristic hot and cold play and more double faults.

@moldypeach
The problem with Yastremska is that she is not consistent, she can have one game where she looks like a top 10 player and follows up with a game with 4 straight double faults or with very basic mistakes.
Begu is playing her best tennis at 31, let's see what happens in the second

Lol, just when I wrote that Begu followed up her hold to 0 with 3 double faults in her next game at got broken straight away. You have to love the WTA

@lik122
Not for me, still think Begu will take this, she just need to get her first serve % up. It's only one break and I don't think Yastremeska will hold her serve in her next 3 serving games. So if Begu just can keep it close she can take the second. Or we have a third set that I think Begu will take as well so, I'm confident with my bet :)

We need that meltdown now, please.

Nice hedge from you, congratz.
I have to say even tho Begu wasn't even near the kind of tennis she played last week, it was impressive from Yastremsk holding 9 straight service games and saving 6 break chances in a row.

@Bjorn_Borg
You had the right idea, Bjorn! But yeah - I think we're at a moment in Yastremska's career where she is on the verge of cleaning up her game. When those striking forehands and powerful serves are going in consistently, she is gonna be very tough to beat on any given day.
