IW QUALS
Ena Shibahara (+105)
Petra Martic -1.5 games (-120)
Wta is really the worst sport to bet on. You’d expect good outings from Shiba and Martic based on last week and a chance to make good money at a Masters 1000 especially against Baptiste who was recently seen to be having an emotional breakdown against Birrell with choking away that match but no these creatures are unpredictable and unreliable. And Shiba was even bageled in the 1st set.

WTA can definitely be tough. Tons of variance and often massive momentum swings within a match. But I bet on most major sports and if I was forced to choose only one it would be WTA without a doubt.
The variance of the game, and women in general, causes many head scratchers like you mentioned. But it's also what creates opportunities, sometimes very large ones.
For me WTA is by far the best and most profitable sport to bet on. But that doesn't mean I won't make a bet from time to time on someone like Martic who gets destroyed by a player who had previously been completely out of form.

It's definitely been weird but qualifying often is. The one constant seems to be Americans winning, other than the 15/16 year old girls. So get your Madison Keys futures ready.
The three I bet on yesterday are underdogs again tomorrow which piques my interest for sure.

Check this out. We all remember Taylor Townsend playing some great tennis last summer but then she seemed to completely fall off the radar and couldn't win a match against literally anybody. But look at her home/away splits starting from the beginning of last year:
Australia: 2-3
In North America starting in Austin and going through Charleston: 10-4
Madrid through Wimbledon: 0-6
Back in North America from Washington through US Open: 10-5
Beijing through Dubai: 1-6
Back in North America again now: 1-0
Home: 21-9
Away: 3-15

Rough day yesterday, back to .500 in quals. I like at least a couple plays today but I might just watch from the sidelines and wait for the main draw.

Qualifying Recap
Day 1: 3-0

With as unpredictable as qualifying has been I'm happy to come out in the black with pretty much all the wins being underdogs. Now time for the main event...
