I watched the entire Del Potro match yesterday and to be honest he looked like shit. Chardy lost that match more than anything with his 50+ unforced errors. Del Po Had no energy and his other worldly forehand that he possesses was no where to be found. To be honest the pace wasn’t much better than his push back hand. While this is Mens tennis and we have no idea what side of the bed Del Po will wake up on tomorrow, I will take my chances. On the other hand Tiafoe certainly has the game big enough for the upset. As we have seen in the past he has pushed Fed to 5 sets, beaten A. Zverev at a masters event and just last week had a break point late in the third set to have a chance to serve it out against eventual New York champion Kevin Anderson. I expect Tiafoe to set himself up to win points just as Chardy was able to do but Tiafoe will actually be able to finish them. Give me the Young American!
