Started my first scan of the US Open odds and I think I found an "easy" winner at a super-low price. I wanted to share this one ASAP as I don't think this number sticks as low as -130.
#75 Ivo Karlovic -130 over #182 Jimmy Wang
It caught my eye immediately at only -130 for the tallest ATP player and so far Everything checks out in my homework of this match.
The ATP #75 Croatian Ivo Karlovic is a Big Server. Get these stats that I dug up:
#1. He has only played 22 matches in ATP Tour and has played 264 Service Games in those 22 matches and has 322 Aces!!!! He averages Over an Ace per service game played!!
#2. He wins 87% of his service games on the year.
At Wimbledon he straight-setted #108 Dudi Sela in the 1st round and took a set off of #4 Andy Murray in the 2nd round (in which he said they were "biased" because he was called on something like,...14 foot-fouls).
At London/Queen's Club, he took out the legend Lleyton Hewitt in straights and lost in a 3-set, 3 tie-breaker match against #57 Yen-Hsun Lu.
------------------
#182 Jimmy Wang of Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) is a pure CHALLENGER-LEVEL player and his #182 ranking mainly consists of the points that he gets from the Challeger level. He plays qualies to try and get into ATP-Level tournies, where he has only played 3 matches in actual ATP-level play this year going 1-2. He can barely get past the quarter-finals of 32-player CHALLENGER-level events.
He has LOSSES to players of ATP #'s 625, 400, 247, 320, 495, 450, 235, AND THREE UNRANKED PLAYERS!
Enough said,...6'10" Big Server Ivo Karlovic over Jimmy Wang of the Challenger Tour

I'm not sure, but the reason it's at this price might be because Karlovic may still be recovering from the foot injury that kept him out of the olympics. Not sure how far along he is in recovery but from his twitter (@ivokarlovic) the only related news I could find was:
- still on crutches as of 16th July (10 days after the injury) - in pain/limping as of 26th July - "Finally started running. The problem with that is that I have to run" as of 16th August.
Not sure whether he is kidding or not on that last one but a little worrying if he only started running 10 or so days before the Open. Hopefully he just means going on long runs.
Most recent tweets have him landing in NYC a couple days ago so I guess he feels like he can play? If healthy he will wipe the floor with Wang. We should probably all send him tweets asking if he is healthy lol. Actually now that I think about it that's a great idea
Anyways cheers for the info

This looks very solid man, your picks have been spot on as of late and my only doubt is that he may be injured. Hopefully even if he is injured his long wingspan should help him and if he is too injured he could withdraw. Otherwise, it's work the risk

"Finally started running. The problem with that is that I have to run" on August 15
Yeh, saw that on Twitter and he's always a jokester,...at least to himself. If he's running on his foot almost 2 weeks before match, I feel he's good enough to straight set Jimmy Wang.
I love using Twitter to get personal information and to help get inside players' heads. I just wish I knew a few other languages to be able to read some of the players' tweets.
Best of Luck

Karlo doesn't want to sleep in a gathering again, so he's gonna wanna win this 1st match vs a Challenger Tour player just so he can pay for the hotel for his...American "late nite s....(snack)".
Plus the foot injury will help him have less than 14 foot-fouls...lol

"Don't forget jimmy Wang won 3 qualifying matches?
Did u just explain how "qualifiers" get into the main draw?!?! Thanks...had NO idea that they have to WIN to get in...and that ALL QUALIFIERS are on a winning streak unless they are a Jeremy Chardy Lucky Loser.
Best of Luck with Wang...I LOVE this play

don't bet against the WANG , can't see dr ivo making it to win 3 sets , if anything take the over this will go at least 4 sets and have some tie breaks
