So far today there have been 4 WTA matches between a player who has not played a match since the Olympics versus a player who has already played hard court matches over the past two weeks. In each match, the player with matches already under their belt prevailed.
Gracheva over Tomljanovic
Sun over Noskova
Krueger over Vekic
Kasatkina over Alexandrova
Potapova and Dart are also playing matches that fit this profile this evening.

I need some words of wisdom pal. We were rolling (last losing week was Rome) and then Saturday morning the fear of losing and self-doubt crept in. After a full workload managed to hit a stalemate. Sunday arrived and had a lean on Hurk but of course had no confidence to fire. I liked our fellow poster's confidence so went for it and it lost and of course our second play lost which had no business playing in the condition I was mentally. Today tried my best to go in with a fresh start and here we are praying Potapova can get me to money earned no money lost. Is the pressure of trying to provide winners getting to me, it sure feels like it. Any of your insights is much appreciated.

Holt got smacked last year at the same event 6-1...6-1 by Fils
These two are just leans
I've been turning a profit live betting and seeing how things evolve at these tournaments as they can be rather nutty to predict lately...weather.. player motivation...looking ahead etc.

It is tempting however Tsitsipas fired his coach (dad) which should free him up and relinquish all of that noise in his head. I see the joy of tennis returning. No play for me.

Quick thought on Struff.

Kotsyuk/Sun that should be a good one. Been watching Kotsyuk matches lately and she plays top level in stretches but then she has these meltdown games.

Last couple weeks have been a struggle for sure. Have had some good days but too many bad ones.
Yesterday after Potapova lost the second set I turned off tennis for the night. I was mad about taking -1.5 games instead of ML since that meant that Potapova would need to win the final set 6-2 or better, which looked unlikely with how she was playing in the second. It was starting to remind me of the Alexandrova match, where all the opponent needed to do was get the ball back over the net until the inevitable unforced error came. Was surprised to find out this morning it was a winner. Looking at the stats it looks like maybe Burel just ran out of gas or something.
As for Montgomery, she showed a lot of immaturity yesterday, especially towards the end of the first set. She should have won that set but straight up squandered it away.
I've considered taking a couple days off just to watch. But on the other hand it has been the early rounds of tournaments where I have had by far the most success this year. I too have lost some confidence but there are still some picks I like today and a couple I've had circled for a few days now. I'm probably just going to compromise and make some plays at 50-75% less than normal.
