Hmm, have to say I haven’t been to impressed by him this year. But the bottom draw looks easier for sure.
he will have to beat both Rublev and Carlos to reach the final. And even if he would reach the final and play let’s say Sinner don’t think he would win. More value on Rublev from that side of the draw.

McNally C. Under 18.5 508-ranked Spiteri got a wildcard because she's Italian, and hasn't played any matches since the 23rd of March when she withdraw with an injury. 6-2, 6-1 Mcnally Bol
nice call BB

Zeppieri is already out from the singles earlier today, I think the Italian pair want to stay in Rome for as long as possible. The pair have played 11 games together with 5 wins. Shelton and Evans have never played together before. Shelton is 0-3 on clay and 3-7 in total in doubles, Evans is 0/4 on clay this season and 4/6 in total.
The Italian pair is better on Clay, played more together and play home in Italy. They opened as dogs, but are now favourites at most bookies, righty so.
Xu/Yang
They reached the semifinal here last year, and should win the opening round against Eikeri and Kato who have never played before together.
World Cup in Ice-hockey starts today, both Sweden and Finland should win their opening match. Sweden just won the pre-tournament without losing any matchets, Finland playing at home, and is the defending champion and have probably the best squad of all team, good mix of NHL players and Europeans, most players that won the gold last year is still in the squad. USA has 5 college kids in their squad and not many of the NHL players stand out.

They won here last year and is 6-1 in total together. Pavlyuchenkova plays Iga tomorrow so double will be her best chance to get some more matches before French Open.
Last week Azarenka and Haddad Maia won Madrid. Both players exit their first round in singles in Madrid so they only had double left to focus on. Here in Rome both players won their first match so I think this week they will focus on single instead. You don’t want to play to many matches and risk injury as well right before a slam.
So fading last weeks winner her and going with last years champions instead.

Sabalenk said she was exhausted after the Kenin loss and needed time to recharge before French Open. I think lots of players that have played a lot this year will be caution this week. Can’t see Carlos win it here, like the Sinner bet even more and Rublev to win his draw.

I think Sinner will have a good shoot here! Carlos and Djokovic will probably be more motivated to do well in French Open, and will probably don’t go for a long run here. Home in Italy Sinner will have the crowd with him and also looking to improve his form a bit. let’s see what the draw gives us. Last time an Italian win the ATP event in time was 1976 (Adriano Panatta)
