Right I've pissed some people off here, time to show what I'm all about.

ATP Barcelona: Rafael Nadal vs Kei Nishikori

Analysis:

  • This is a fascinating matchup, and while Nishikori is 8-1 in the head-to-head record against Rafa, this number is deceiving at the current time.
  • Nishikori is a magnificent 15-3 in Barcelona, he looks for his 3rd title in Barcelona and has never lost a match here by more than 3.5 games, 1 of his defeats coming via a retirement.
  • People say Nadal is back to his best form, I don't agree with this. Look back to last week in Monte Carlo and the match against Dominic Thiem. Nadal had to save 14/15 break points during this win, a match Thiem threw away. Nadal does seem to have used this performance as momentum but Nishikori is the first player Nadal has played this week with the consistency to match him from the baseline.
  • These are the perfect conditions for Nishikori. Temperatures aren't expected to break 20 Degrees Celsius, meaning he won't have to cope with warm conditions which hampered him when beaten by Nadal in Indian Wells. I expect the Japanese player to win this one or come very close, great value with the +3.5 game handicap.

Please get your information correct before you post because you can mislend people thinking your information is correct in your analysis. I don't think the Japanese is 8-1 H2h against Nadal more like the opposite .
