Why do you like Xaiver Malisse over Tsonga? JW i was leaning Tsonga earlier but the line has dropped which concerns me. I've followed you a little bit on here you're pretty good with your tennis picks so i would like to hear your reasoning. Thanks.

I like Malisse because he has played Tsonga tough in the past and now I question Tsonga's motivation here. Tsonga's has a tendency to start off slow in the first round of tournaments, Tsonga has played a lot of tennis lately and I believe he would rather rest for Paris next week where he has to defend finals points. He is here probably just to collect the appearance fee money. Line i think will continue to drop.
Also ly at this tournament he needed 3 sets to beat Javier freaking Marti in the first round only to get smashed by Sam Querrey next round. Not surprisingly he made it to the finals of Paris the following week.
Also the only other time he played this tournament was in 2009 when he suspiciously retired in the third set against Youzhny yet he was miraculously able to play in Paris the following week.

here is a recap i read about tsonga's first round match last year.
Tsonga looked
totally flat and unfocused for large parts of the opening two sets,
missing easy balls and competing rather half heartedly but he upped
his game markedly at the end of the second set and cruised through in
the end. Marti had looked very energised to begin with and got plenty
of balls into play but he was overpowered in the final set, tiring badly
close home

if he thinks he can do that against malisse then he will lose.
here is some more info about tsonga complaining like a bitch last year.
VALENCIA: Tsonga complained about the balls after beating Marti. "Balls.
Here they are an ordeal. You can not do anything with them. Nothing.
After just 2 games it's like suddenly they have been deflated . There is
no advantage for any type of game. All players have complained. I can
not play my game. In conclusion it's simple...zero fun." It must be
pointed out that the Frenchman also moaned about several other things
yesterday, the state of the court, the sun shining through the roof and
the noise from outside to name but 3.

came through comfortably in the end in straight sets against a rather
jaded looking Jo Wilfried Tsonga, who played as though he'd had enough
for the week. Both players had few problems on serve in the opening set
but as soon as Tsonga lost the tie break the Frenchman's level dropped
dramatically with some half hearted serving and ropey looking
groundstrokes handing the win to the American. Querrey's first serve
percentage was poor (just 46%) but his overall serving level was decent
(faced just 2 break points) and he competed well in the rallies. "I
felt great," said Querrey, who is still feeling his way back following a
serious elbow injury. "I served really well and hit my forehand great.
Hopefully I can win another round." (Forum extract) "He missed so
many shots on purpose. Most blatant tank I have ever seen. Hilarious
when Tsonga had conceded two calls on pretty big points. When he tried a
third time (on *15-30), Lahyani said:"We go with the call, you can't
give every point." Querrey 7/6 6/2.

Bercy is a very important tournament for me. Masters or not, I want to
play well here," said Tsonga. "I know the surface suits me, and I'm
able to have a good result here. The goal for me is really Bercy, this
Masters. [The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals is] the cherry on the cake
for me
now we know how tsonga feels about valencia and paris one would think he would like to be resting and practicing in paris for one of his favorite tournaments where he has final points to defend.

now here are comments tsonga made about Paris quite the contrary.
did not post for some reason
"It is a tournament I love. It gives me the shivers. When I enter the
court on Tuesday night I will have more. It's a lot of fun at Bercy and I
hope I will have more. As a kid I dreamed of playing on the centre
court and coming out in the lights on here. It's pretty magical and
it's a childhood dream come true. I remember coming to see Pete Sampras,
one of my idols, winning here. To win again would be a great
opportunity," said Tsonga.

Great info i appreciate it. You think Wawrinka or Youzhny has a better chance to win their match?
you're welcome. that is a tough call but i would say youzhny has a better chance. tomic is pretty horrible and davydenko when not match fixing can be somewhat dangerous.

Like the plays Pro, X-man plays everyone tough, plus I didn't expect chiunidelli to be -165 at my book, he's a fav and that high for a reason, Vegas knows what their doing.
Will b on both, Gl to us

Simon just split with his coach back at the start of this month after losing in the finals of a tournament 6-1 6-2. He said he had a bit of a injury which limited his ability to play.
Tips needs to go deep in Valencia if he wants a shot at London....so I would expect him to be focused and get past Simon in the first round.
+102 for tipsarevic....
shouldn't tipsy be the fav?

Prof, whats up with the Simon / Tips line?

cover well the first line i saw at pinny was tips -112 and now simon is -115. i think it is a bad matchup for tipsarevic and the 5-2 h2h reflects that. i think simon wins.
just because he wants to get to london to me is not as important as how he matches up with simon. simon probably won't be able to serve with much pace but once they get into a rally he will frustrate tips into unforced errors.
i also think tips is tired he has played an insane amount of tennis.

I think -3 could push 6&4 is my prediction. Yeah kohlchoker pathetic performance he will be a good fade before books adjust. He is not that good and overachieved.
