I think -115 on JJ was a deal. she is in awesome form. her beatdown of Yanina was shockingly ruthless and this was with Wickmayer playing to her median form and even getting in 78% or so first serves. And clay is definitely not Venus' best surface, she went out to Szavay 0-6 4-6 in the French last year for example. I think she showed some cracks vs Peer too, though small ones.

I think people are getting way to excited for jumping on either side, either player is fully capable of winning this match, so many people are eager to jump on one or the other, just stay away and watch

I know this is after the fact and it's not over, but Wick and Venus are the same style players IMO. JJ creamed Wick and now Venus so far.

well you guys who said this was 50-50 were disproved in a big way. Venus has not impressed vs top competition this year and especially lately and this is her worst surface by far. JJ being in stellar form as well made this an easy pick IMO.

Got a refund for other mistakes, going to almost break even on the day, yay. But as a Venus fan this is painful to watch. I think she is going to struggle vs top ten players a lot this year. She is just not consistent enough.

"Venus is blowing herself off the court," says the announcer. She should have added: "Again." Those mickey mouse tournaments she barely won and the w/l record she got from them mean little compared to her fuck ups vs the better players this year.

Depends on her odds vs Serena for me. I rate Serena as a slight fave even now. She has also looked good this week. But yeah I would take Jankovic over Ivanovic for sure too, nice to read that you are thinking the same way there.

Yes Venus have beat some top players this year

about the same record than Jancovik when you look at it

 

Why you did not bet on Jankovic if it was a so obvious choice

 

You were busy betting on Petrova ?

 

me i did not bet side...it was to close to call on paper before the game....and the odds were not attractive also

if it was Janckovic +3 for example and was the underdog

i would have bet it but not as a favorite -130

Hmm not today, but you're sorely mistaken if you think Venus is not capable of beating JJ, Venus throws these every now and then, no reason to overreact about it.  Disappointing it was such a bad match though
