The sport's top stars will be returning to Wimbledon just three weeks after the end of the annual grand slam tournament, in the hope of being crowned Olympic champion on the grass of Centre Court.

The Tennis events at London 2012 span nearly the entire Games, starting on Saturday 28 July and wrapping up with medal events on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 August.

hey shaps thanks for bringing that up. yes actually it does concern me. thankfully robin haase is an opponent that does not cause me much concern. just read this from his twitter.

  j chardy -1120 vs f volandri.,

 m fish -1030 vs rr hidalgo +730

both big favorites are over priced.,  think both should be aroudn -400 or so., but i don't know a lot.,  fish does like grass., but both of these guys are not really good., just both seem way to high to me.

They haven't released the spreads on my book yet but wondering what your point of view on the spread would be as opposed to straight ML play.  I'm guessing it'll be Haas -1 1/2 or -2. 

After the recent debacle where Nad kicked the line judge by accident and got DQ'ed, I'm hesitant to play straight out ML in tennis since my book counts it as an official wager once 1 set is completed.  Even though I came out on top of that bet, I'm now left wondering how many wagers people have lost due to injury, DQ's, and so on...

shaps Nishi retired from the French with an abdominal injury not sure how healthy he is did not check because i have no interest in that match. If healthy would think he would be Kush who is 2-7 on grass in his career.

Tomic another guy who might not be 100%. He says he is 80% i think he can still win.

The 19-year-old had planned a week of R & R after the French Open following a draining six-week claycourt stretch that secured his career-high ranking world No.27 heading into the grasscourt major.

Instead he fell sick, a virus leaving his Wimbledon preparation in disarray.

"I was bad for three or four days prior to Halle," Tomic told AAP.

"I was resting in Monaco where I somehow got it, so I'm lucky it went away the last few days and I'm actually feeling right to go.

"I'm back to normal, which is good, but I wouldn't say that physically I'm 100 per cent. That's why I need these few days to get ready for Monday, Tuesday.

"But I think I'm back to 80 per cent, which is good. I've got these next three days which are very, very important for next week."

I never trust Troicki or Llorda.

WTA flip a coin Woz and Cibi should win but would not be surprised if one or both lost really have no clue on those.

spread will prob be -3.5 and i don't feel good about that. haas could get crushed in one set but still win the match.

volandri on grass never say never but i say very unlikely he wins.

fish just had surgery heart? saw a pic on his twitter he looks so frail. he is lucky he drew RRH or else i would fade. still would not be surprised if fish lost thought he was a fraud and washed up long before his surgery.

Hey Prof,
Any opinion on who you think will win between Nalbandian/Tipsarevic? Nice little first round match.  I'm leaning Nalbandian, but I think it's more of a pick with my heart than my head. I'm just a huge fan of his game (although I think he is an a-hole as a person).  Case in point.....last week at Queen's Club.
