taking the hawks -4 at home against okc this evening. i've been avoiding the hawks like the plague since my streak got serious, mainly because they are my team and i don't want to do anything that could be conceived as jinxing them in the midst of their best season since i've been alive.
durant has always done well against the hawks going back to his rookie season. however, while the thunder have been at or near the top of the west the last few seasons and the hawks have been a middle-of-the-road eastern conference team, the hawks have still pulled out some wins and haven't really been blown out. i don't think it's a bad matchup for them even in years past, and this year they are a different team entirely.
as always, i try to pay attention to travel and fatigue, and this pick is no different. okc is playing their third game in four nights with travel in between each. they're also coming off an overtime game in washington, so their two key contributors each played 40+ minutes apiece. meanwhile, the hawks roll nine or ten deep every game it seems, and no one on their team has played 35 minutes in either of the last two games. they've also been at home, so there's been no travel and an off day in between each.
just like my own, i assume the hawks' streak will come to an end sometime soon, but i'm hoping it's not tonight. i think their balance and fresh legs will endure. as always, thank you for the torrent of support and encouragement, and best of luck to all participants, with me or against.

I won a 4K Suicide Pool once and the clinching pick was my beloved Denver Broncos. And there was never a better feeling in the world. It clouds my memories of the 5 times they gagged up games and eliminated me.
Hey, your the man and hotter than fire but I think that you were right to avoid your Hawks. There's always that LOVE which skews the thought process, like dealing with old girlfriends.
Go Hawks because I'm selfish and want to witness the near impossible. Eye-Opening.

Wish, I had something prophetic to say, everyone else is pretty much covering it, no pun intended. Dude, ((((((YOU DA MAN))))). Today their aint a capper on this site more respected than YOU. Imma gonna lay my big bet on the wood tonite! I saw the play before I went to bed, but said, "wait & see what Brackson does. You gonna get that dream job bro, I am so happy for you. Sadly when the run ends I am a little guy that cant/wont pay covers prices for picks. Actually, I have in the past, and the end result was losing, so it just made no sense, I figured I could just lose the money I was going to pay them without losing more. That being said, lets chop some wood tonite!!!!!! Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

@djkaj, i currently have no money in either of my sportsbooks online. i'm not actively betting my own money on anything at the moment, i haven't hedged any of my picks thus far and i don't intend to moving forward. so yes, all of my picks are all-in picks, if you will.
@nbafan, i don't see how you could go wrong with either guy. i might consider budenholzer's job a little more impressive because kerr was given a team that went 51-31 last year and they have a bona fide superstar, something the hawks don't have. to me, the bigger picture is the state of the nba under adam silver. i'm hoping that the successes of both franchises are a sign that we are done with david stern's nba, where you knew which 3-5 teams would be allowed to win a title before each season started.

Yup I fully agree. The Hawks performance this year is more impressive. They were slated to win much fewer games than GSW. Also, after the racism scandal that the Hawks went through over the summer, Budenholzer has had a much greater responsibility to the franchise than Kerr has to the Warriors. Bud is basically the acting GM and the coach... the reason I asked is because I have a +25000 wager on Budenholzer and I think Kerr is the only realistic other choice halfway through the season.

All that very important big office 411 being said, we must also remember public perception, Steve Kerr, is famous in his own right as a member of Michael Jordans elite squad with alot of public adulation still alive and well, I still relish the memories of him standing in the corner and knocking down threes like buttering toast bread. NBA officials will not overlook the fact that if a decision builds fan base it is good for the NBA. Hope that makes sense.
