Even if you don't spend 10 hours capping a game, you have a 50/50 shot blindly picking one. That's far better than having his bankroll bled away.
At this point his luck is so bad, I might actually suggest he NOT cap the game and just pick a random team and roll with it. And when he did cap a bomb bet (Kings), that didn't work out too well. But of course the Kings can pay you. Just look at last night. You just have to be patient and know when to strike.

He's getting in fights with 5 guys, coming home at 6:45am

He goes back to Jersey of course and lives at home and starts rebuilding the bankroll again, and never EVER bets on the NBA or college basketball again (but at this point, I don't think he's the same gambler to handle the NFL either despite the fact he's done well in it).
What did his old job pay ...$28K a year?
He can find a job for $28K a year again.
If he left $108K job? I'd say this whole ordeal was a bit of a mistake.
He can just look at the whole thing as buying a $30,000 car...except he doesn't have the car...like he gifted it to a relative or something.
Just leave enough money for gas, tolls, some stops at Arby's if he loses.
But the bomb play is the way in my opinion.
You took your shot and it failed. Now you have one shot to get 2/3 of the way back to the where you were to get several more months our there and stretch it to football season (which is allegedly some kind of bankroll savior and then all that green will roll into his apartment like the books are bringing it to him in wheelbarrows ...I got news for ya CG, football is just as brutal as basketball when it comes to betting).

So, it is okay to bet 4k a day? Just because March Madness is going on, doesn't mean to bet college basketball....still NBA and other sports. I honestly don't think he knows what to do with how much to wager. I was just trying to give him a set amount.
