BOGUS LINES on Santa Barbara/Iona game

JUST talked to Covers about webba's(5 place Ultimate Race) NCAAB pick of under 189.5, THE line opened at 149.5 and has gone up to 152 and was never 189.5,yet I was told a site made a mistake on the side line(-1.5 instead of -7.5 I think) and the over /under line(189.5 instead of 149.5) Maybe any picks with those mistakes should be voided.

I think this is the second or third time this has occured,and I don't understand how it has happened more then once.Can the pick be removed and have the person pick again,that would be fair.

Why should they be voided? Yes, its an obvious mistake by Covers, but everyone had the opportunity to take advantage of Covers xmas gift.

It is hard to wait around, for Covers to make mistakes on some of these lines. I work for a living, So I make most of my picks the night before and yes there is multiple times the line moves in my favor and or against me but it's never more than a couple points. The line Webba got is bogus and should be voided. Sports books that darn up void bets all the time.

So, just because you work for a living, then Covers should cater to your schedule? Please. The game is now over and it wouldnt have mattered what the lines were. But yet and still, as I said before, everyone had the option to make the picks. Just because you work for a living doesnt matter diddly squat.

And funny, I have lived in Vegas for 37 years now, and not once, EVER, after placing a bet, was my ticket voided. Once the bet is placed, they CANT void it.

I'm with zillaGod.  Things happen and get corrected when discovered.  There is no special advantage and it could happen at anytime - even the night before.  If you argued that all NCAAB picks for the day should be voided (as long as zero games had started) and everyone had only three picks for the day I would consider that as fair.  Of course the people who's voided picks were correct would then complain... especially the ones that picked late so they were able to pick more than one NCAAB game that night. 


History shows again and again how Nature points out the folly of man....

My grandfather tells a story all the time about betting back in the '60s. He had to call in his bets, and they mistakenly posted the line for a game at ND -41 instead of -14. Him and his buddy jumped on it and wagered basically everything they had made to that point in the season. The underdog scored a touchdown on the opening drive, so they had a 47 point cushion, and then ND rattled off 56 straight to end the game and they lost just about everything they had made through two-thirds of the season. The books make mistakes, and they are still going to pay you if you profit from the mistake just like they are still going to take your money if you don't.

NOT if you are at work and don't get home until after 5:30-6 and the line is now been corrected @149.5 !

WHY don't you get your head out of your behind. YOU posted exactly what happened to me in a prior race,when I picked a college basketball game that was cancelled due to a snowstorm causing the roof to cave in.I came home from work and found out the game was voided and didn't get another pick.SO they have done it before.

Who's to say that a mistake isn't made during a line update at 5:39 and YOU are there to take the healthier side?  Intentionally working around the system by players is something to be bothered about - random occurrences due to a mistake are not.  Do you really think webba was intently watching the line to jump on the error when it happened because he knew it was going to happen?

YO MORON........IT did matter what the line was,it was a major mistake of 40 points and PLEASE stop saying that everyone had the option to make the pick,THAT'S the most moronic statement you can make,if the line was never corrected,then that would be true, but it was and that means not everyone had the chance to pick it when it was 189.5 !

YES if he knew the line was a mistake, because he might have seen the correct line at another site.

But everyone DID have the option. If you were online for the couple of hours that line was posted that is. Sorry Covers cant work around your schedule, but that is YOUR problem, not theirs.

My post was in reply to the other guy who said  "  Sports books that darn up void bets all the time.  " My post was saying that No, they do not. As for living in Vegas, like I said, I have been here for 37 years, and I sure aint impressed. For people that never have lived here, they think it must be nice to live there. Well, it isnt. It is hot, dry, and dusty. There is no winter to speak of. I hate living here, but unfortunately I am stuck here.

Any game would be voided if the game is not played on the date specified. That is a common rule even for Vegas sportsbooks. You should have been aware that there was a major snowstorm and that anything could happen to cancel the game. 


As for any more posts on this subject, I am through. There is nothing anyone can say anymore that is worthwhile to the conversation, and I am just sick of people crying.

There were two other games with the same 189.5 issue.  One of them was never corrected the entire day until the game started at 9pm.

ive seen a mistake on pinnacle a few times and dumped a huge amount on it, eg. 2nd intermission o/u in hockey games. they will void your bet and say the wrong line was given, sorry.

Funny, I have been betting on online sportsbooks for 21 years and EVERY time you bet a line that is an obvious mistake, they VOID your bet...EVERY time...

And as a matter of fact, for more than 10 years now, every time I see a line that is wrong at my sportsbooks, I immediately email their customer support email to notify them so they can fix the obvious typo...Most of the errors are 2nd half lines, undoubtedly typed while in a rush...And the Books send thank you responses every time and some will put bonus money in your account for being honest and alerting them of these mistakes...

This ain't Vegas...This contest is being held online...

Last time I checked, the contestants of this contest are not getting tickets at any windows, they are making their selections online... Covers has every right to void that pick because it is more than reasonable to assume everyone making that selection knew that was a bad line that was an obvious mistake, therefore their pick could and should be voided if you are dumb enough to pick the faulty line knowing it is faulty and knowing it should be voided...

So if you are going to be so arrogant while making an argument, then get a clue and compare apples to apples instead of apples to oranges...Your Who-Cares-Vegas story has NOTHING to do with the post and correct point/argument that Classof78 made...
