Seems like there are quite a few of you who are following this thread now. So I want to send everyone a message. The vets I know are using caution in wagering these plays... and rightly so.
If you have been around this game long enough to experience the some of the extreme swings that can occur with the tight lines in NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, then you know to be conservative in your wagering...and the longer a winning streak goes on,,, the MORE cautious we need to be.
About 15 years ago I had a few "clients" that I gave games out to. ... for a fee of 20% of their winnings.....
They were all from a group of wealthy oil men in Texas.
During the first 3 weeks of January of that year ... my picks made them over $350,000 (yes they were high rollers)...but one Sunday I called one of them to give him the games.
He said they were all on the golf course with their bookie and they were PAYING him $60,000 for the week!!!!! I still can't believe they lost all that they had made from my picks and still lost 60K
The following Tuesday they balked at paying MY fee so I promptly dropped them as clients.
I haven't given my plays out publicly or privately since that day.
Yes you can look at a bunch of other threads and my picks on this site which have been inconsistent and unfocused.
NO excuses but the fact is that with consistent focus you CAN make really good money at this game.
I had someone comment on another of my threads saying that none of the "pros" would wager on my games because I claimed that my picks hit over 60%... I feel for them because if you could have a peak at my spreadsheets I actually hit closer to 65%.
NO THAT IS NOT A JOKE
Live wagering is here to stay I think --- but the longer it stays, the tighter the lines will get, and the more difficult it will be to beat the man.
PIck your spots... be consistent... and PLEASE don't bet the rent money!
