This hits over 57% of the time and with refinement will hit 65% of the time . It has been especially hot this year. We are looking for teams that have a 40% higher winning % against the spread over today's opponent using the last 10 games point spread results.
Rules
Give a team 10 points if it covered in the last game
Give it 9 if it covered the game before that
then 8 , then 7 etc. until you have gone thru all 10 games.
If a game resulted in a push give the team half credit
Do that for both teams. Each team is eligible to get as many as 55 points. If one team has 22 points or more (that is a 40% difference) than the other it is a play, provided that team we want to play has more half (28) of the eligible points which is the vast majority of the time. Yesterday NY played the LAL. New York had over 50 points of positive point spread results. LA had only 6 points if memory serves me right. The difference was easily over the margin of 22 points. N Y was the play. This has been hitting the whole year at well over 60%. Watch it and hopefully it will continue its torrid pace . It has won every year I have tested it. For anybody interested it would be nice for somebody to use this and then post the plays on this posting. Unfortunately I might not find anybody. There are many lazy people out there and even more mooches. A lot of people are not willing to do what it takes to succeed. They want something for nothing and even when they get it they find away to blow away their winnings. I hope somebody will pursue this. You can never succeed in life being lazy or a mooch.
You can find the spread results in each team's past results posted here on Covers

I have gone back one week to finding plays for this system. There has been 7 plays since Dec 9th unless I made a mistake. They ALL WON. Let us start from there and see what this does for the rest of the year

You are right! Thanks for your effort.

you do a great job, looking for nba system gonna try this!
It works. I have researched it for several years. You can back track the plays from Covers past results for the past several years. It hits about 65% if you do a few extra common sense things to it.

Here are the results using the hot- cold method from the NBA games dating from Dec 9. I did not have time to go any further.
Dec 9 Tor Cleve win
10 Cleve Phil win
Minn Den win
12 Phil Cleve win
15 Mil Mia win
Ny Phoe win
Orl G S win
16 Ny LAL win
17 Cle Min win
LAC Chi lose ahead by 4( 8 to the spread ) with 28
seconds to go and lost in overtime. Bad Beat!
No plays today
I hope this is correct. I do not guarantee it , but it is close
This works in college also and in football. It needs some adjusting in football because of the fewer games played. I use it in college basketball starting about the 8th point spread game. We are looking for a 40% margin or more also when there are less then 10 point spread games played.
Covers has not posted several point spread results in its college section. I spotted about 100 of these and they said they woud look into it. As a handicapper I measure point spread games and put little value when a normally point spread team is playing "The Mothers Of The Poor" and such. It has cost me twice this year because I did not notice that Covers did not post the spreads from some spread games in between the lastspread game. IE. Mass KAN was not posted. The buck stops here but I would not have made those mistakes had somebody been doing their job!
I will be posting another method involving the NBA and NFL. It is my pointspread value play. Keep in mind sometimes the value I have is off because of starters not playing and trades that cause differences in today's spreads. Also N Y and N J seem to be off on my end so I will not use my spreads until it catches up. This method hits about 57-58% of all games. Here is how its played. When a team has a 3 point difference or more from my spread to the actual spread it is a play. When the game is off by 3 it is 3 unit play , 4 then it is four units etc. I started this yesterday. Both teams lost and I am 0-8 in unit play. Observe this . Do not make any plays on these games until it has a proven track record. Also you must update player information every day to see if somebody is not playing. Do not on play cold teams or against hot teams.
Cheers

Why there is no play for today? What about Orlando 47 vs Spurs 24?
Sorry you were right. It is good to have sharp people around. I did not get back to you in time. Saturday there are 2 plays. if you read my article about eastern conf vs western conference teams these 2 plays get a boost. Charlotte and Orlando .Be careful with LA though. It is not good when a 800% straight up team loses outright. On the other hand something is wrong in LA .They are not playing on 8 cylinders.I hope everyone uses this posting for plays. My time comes and gos so I may not respond right away. This play should win for the year .It wins every year I have tested it. It will work for college also. I think there is a play tomorrow but you can not go 10 games at this time of the year. Find 40% difference plays using 6 or more games. It should work.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, according to the system today's plays are
ATL 38 gs 13 NY 52 mill 29 The N Y game was not a play because you never play against a team with a winning spread number. Milw has a 29. If they had a 27 or less it would have been a play If a team has 28 points or more they have won more than half (55 possible) there points. It's vice versa for losers. I can not get back everytime to see what is going on but I think that is about the only time when you must be careful.

Hope everybody takes advantage of the East playing the West Conf. There is a window opportunity for about a month or so. I could be wrong but I do not think so.

I hope you caught the football game . Colorado St vs Fresno State was a play. Arkansas State- Ark LR is a play in college Basketball. They have not played 10 games but you can use this method with less games. I would not try it unless each team has 6 or more games against the point spread though.
Be careful .Covers has neglected to list several spread results recently. That cost me twice. I do not know wh but there are many games they did not list the spreads in their past results. Examples Ill -Hawaii, Mass- Kansas. There are many more. I told them and they said they would look into it but have not done anything so far. Hopefully some of you will mention it. They do a great job normally but something has happened in the past 3 weeks.
There will be a lot of college plays starting in Jan. It works in football including the bowl games and NFL playoffs.
