I am thinking of trying out online sports betting. I obviously have never done it before so, I'm sure some of you can understand my concerns. I have been doing some research deciding on who to use. Ive searched here as well as read reviews/topics over at SBR. The general consesus is that 5dimes is the way to go. I have yet to read any 100% positive reviews for any site. Im sure that will never be possible. And I am aware that if I get "screwed" there isnt much I can do about it. Im from Cali so I know there are a few online books that Americans cannot be a part of. Im a small bettor, been doin it for about 6 months, just gettin my feet wet. So I have some concerns/questions...
- Can an online user get "in trouble" for being a part of an online book? Would my bank catch wind of this and step in? I would assume not as so many are apart of an online shop.
- As far as making a deposit, for example 5dimes minimum deposit is $50 for VISA. Is there a minimum amount you need to keep on thier site after your initial deposit? Do they let you tell them when to deposit more from your acct or is it done recurringly on a set date?
Couldnt seem to find an answer for this one.
-What is a rollover? 5dimes requires a rollover before collecting funds.
- What would happen if a book is shut down? Would we just be screwed out of whatever balance we had there?
Ive read good and bad stories regarding online books, read reviews and checked out some websites. I figured some people on this site might have some good insight / experiences with online books.
I welcome all responses.
Thank You.

The top books to use are 5dimes, youwager, and heritage, all have been around for a long time and all have no issues with payouts. Do not deposit using credit card. Do all deposits with western Union or Moneygram. If you use credit card you'll have to jump through hoops getting paid faxing all your personal info and might take days. Western Union you can get paid out next day without verifying info or anything... If the book shuts down your screwed. Up to this point I dont think their is one count of an individual getting prosecuted for wagering online. It's illegal for the banks to process money not to gamble online (which the actual books are in countires) where it's not illegal...
