Paid Betting services

Hey y'all. Just one question, Have anyone paid for a betting service before? and how did it go for you

I did and they are crap!! All of them are crap! Especially Doc Sports, in particular, that Indian cowboy guy! They are terrible! You are better off following people who post free picks on this forum!

 Haha I don't know that guy but what was his winning or losing percentage? I'm doing great myself so just checking

if you never paid for picks, go for it. everyone learns a valuable lesson. i don’t pay for picks anymore, been like 8+ years so far

Thanks for the reply man, I don't buy picks too actually I was thinking about starting to sell picks because I have a very good record in the NBA so far (26-14) so my win percentage is 65% which is higher than 99% of the paid services that I see Lol so was making sure how that works!

all those selling picks people are just good marketers .

if they're that good and consistent they wouldnt offer you the service in the first place.  They would rather keep it to themselves.

 30 games in and you want to sell your picks boy? LOL!! Most or all touts are garbage after some winners and they think that they are good enough to sell their picks. Every cappers can go for a hot streak and cold like ice the next few days. No one will ask for some changes if they win consistently and make good money. You will fail boy.

there was a sports talk show here and they had a weekly guest from vegas talking about the upcoming nfl games. he had won the vegas capping contest 2 years running with about a 59% winning percentage. he claimed he posted a $100,000 bet to anybody who could pick 5 nfl games a week through the season and have a higher percentage. he claimed to have no takers.

You get what you pay for generally.  Especially the guaranteed picks.  Here, give me $30 for a guaranteed pick.  Awe, you lost.  OK, you can have tomorrow's pick for free -- I keep the $30.  Mostly a racket.

I have paid for picks... and i agree with most here, they suck. especially those that claim that they have inside information, etc.

 LOL I know what you guys saying, I'm not new to betting so I know how this works also I'm about 113+ Units up this last 6 months but I was talking about this season so far alone but yeah I get it really.

 I wouldn't take it either lol but that's because I know nothing about NFL only NBA for me but yeah only the best bettors would get more than that also the keyword here is "5 games every week" you should only bet the spot you find as good not all games

Back in the day 900 services some gamblers used for winners winners and more winners. It was always best to take the opposite of their so called locks! 

This is the truth.

Saying that no tout makes a profit is idiotic. But I can guarantee you that if you track their bets for 1 year + most of them are small losers, close to breaking even. Some do win. 

Touts have some problems:

1) If a tout is a proven winner he has a solid network of followers. Once the tout´s pick is out, the followers pound the bet, and the line shifts. That means that you will rarely get the same value that the tout is proclaiming. 

2) This is even more clear since the betting services websites promote the tout´s that are on a hot streak. Look at Covers. The top of their touts are the guys on a heater, but if you scroll down you will see much more depressing (or realistic results). 

3) As time goes on, I think touts become careless. They make a living from selling picks. Many of them are no longer betting their picks, or at least, do not depend on the results to make a living. Since they have this assured piece of income, they dont have the hunger or drive that the other professional or semi professional gamblers to have. If we don´t adjust and adapt we lose our money. If a tout does not lose or adjust, he will lose some followers (who almost certainly already payed the yearly subscription, so who cares).

The other thing about touts is their cost. Even the best one out there, probably has a ROI of 5% at best. That means that if you are betting USD 200 per bet, and the tout service costs $2k a year, you will need to place 200 bets to recover your investment. There are many touts that dont even post 200 bets in one year. 

IMO a tout can work if he gives you insight on how to cap a game. That would be a good reason to pay for the service. You make some money but you gain knowledge. 

But paying an asshole to say Bet X or Bet Y, will almost certainly not profitable (unless you are betting 1k+ per game) and it does not give you any additional value. 

just think about this. If the picks are really that good, they don’t need to sell their picks.  They can just bet themselves and make a lot of money!

 That's kind of true but also when you think about it it's like doubling up his profit or something for example if you sell for 50$ a month and you have let's say 50 customers that's extra 2500$ a month that even if you have a bad week then you are still winning anyway

So you admit it on your comment that they have "bad weeks...".   So how do you know you are not paying for picks on a "bad week"?  How is this better than just picking your own?

 Exactly because everyone has bad weeks but the trick here is most of the time the subscriptions are monthly for example so even if the bettor you buying from is having a bad run you can't simply quit because u already paid for a month for example that's why it's so inconsistent

 I would open your own betting service and then pay yourself rather than pay someone else.

this makes no logical sense...not very cerebral at all.

not speaking for myself or anyone in particular,but many people like money and want more of it..as much as possible.so why on earth would someone NOT want to make money by getting and then make MORE money by selling also??...of course im not saying that any of these guys are successful,but if they were it would still make perfect sense to sell picks also....and sell them for as much as possible.
