people actually pay for baseball picks?.....my god
 
as casual neutral observer trying to muster any interest in baseball or baseball capping, gamehunter is the only one I've seen make a run at baseball long term profits (minimum 2-3 years)
 
agree with van zack early thought - true sharps or serious cappers (including a few here on covers) can just wager $$$$ a unit on the actual plays (such as football and basketball) and do not need (or care to waste their time) to chase $15 a pop from some kid (or slow adults) who should not have a credit card
 
anyone willing to work at salesman wages is obviously not making enough on the actual wagers or more likely does not have the long term results needed to sustain and hence needs to make money on sales rather than wagering income

a.) you won't consistantly profit betting the way you do.
b.) you got hot for a short period of time
c.) your last year record speaks for itself
d.) touts usually have  a resume that is longer than April, 2009 - May, 2009
e.) you're a white sox fan.

theres cheaper better sites anyways. pimpdaddy has been doin pretty well on his. i have been following some of his free plays they usually win me some money

So who's gonna be the first to start posting his picks after they drop the 300? It's ashame he is a great Capper and I'm very thankful for all his past picks but at the same time why wouldnt someone just pay and post the picks? For all that matters I'll pay the 300 and everyone can send 10 for the day to my paypal....and I will PM his picks :)

It's amazing to me how many fools are on covers...I always laughed when I saw how many people looked on AJ'S Threads and thought he was a good handicapper....Guy would release way too many plays(10-to as many as 22) in a day to be considered a good handicapper right off the bat...a good handicapper never has more than 3 or 4 plays in a single day....he would chase when he lost his first couple and increase his unit plays as well...dude was strictly amateur hour who had some inflated record because of supposed Spring Training Wins....right there should tell you something because what person in their right mind bets spring training??...good luck to all you who pay for his picks...he pulled a solid donut on his first day of pay picks....expect many more to follow

This is in good debate and not disrespectful to you. Where is it written that in baseball that a good handicapper never has more than 3-4 picks a day? I understand your premise if a bettor is laying consistent juice, as the law of averages will catch up with him and he will be paying a vig. However, I for one make sure I play at +105 to +110 on average for the year so if I hit 49% or better, the more games I play, the higher my profit. I consider myself as a very good baseball handicapper and I play more than 3-4 games a day. Two years ago I made approximately 1200 wagers (average of 7 per day) on the season and won +140 units in the regular season. Last year I made approximately 1000 wagers and made +70 units in the regular season. I don't see how my returns diminish with the more games I play at postiive juice on average. I disagree with your premise. Regarding AJ, what difference does it make if he played 22 games a day? The bottom line is he was showing a huge profit the past two months. I am not defending him or giving my opinion on him or the move he made but just debating your underlying premise which I think is inaccurate.

I really can't knock AJ because he did a lot of work and he put out a lot of winners, and a lot of people made good money off him. But he was 4-7 on Mon and 3-7 on Tues, so this week was not a good time to become a tout. Since AJ was giving ALL his plays out for free, my suggestion is that he should put out a free play each day for those who can't afford his services and/or to lure others over. As they both might sign up if they make a few bucks off of them. In AJ's case, most of his one unit plays were a waste of time, but more importantly they mostly made him waste time and money on a break even proposition. However, had he been keeping tab on what was working and what was not, some of his one unit plays were worth increasing and some were worth eliminating. And that was also the same with some 2 unit plays. By doing this he would have made better use of his time and have had less  plays but with a higher win%!
 
We all can learn from this as it just shows how important money management is. With all the plays he made, apparently he didn't make much money even thought he was up 120 units, because he spread himself too thin!!!
 
And that my friend is what is wrong with having too many plays!!!

When I made book back in the day my best clients were the ones who played more than 3 games per day.

I guess someone has bought his plays if they know how hes doing,
But I played quite a few of his plays and won money on them,but also passed on alot of them,esp.the ones that were based on an ump being an under ump,but pitchers were not under pitchers.
And he had already started to even out over the last few weeks and his view count was also going down,but its like Vanzack said,its about selling the illusion of winning and hard selling which I cant see AJ doing.
Touts dont have to win to make money,they have to sell.

I respectfully disagree. I think I read that AJ is 23 years old. He admits he doesn't bet a lot of money and that he isn't working. I have a lot of respect for a person that understands his current situation and doesn't use funds he needs for his daily requirements for gambling. If he is disciplined, he was was betting 1-2% of his bankroll per game and that may have been only $50-100 per game. If so he made a 120% return on his bankroll. It may have been only $6000 but that's awesome. I don't think he was worried about whether he made the transition during a hot or cold streak. It seems like he did it because it will help him out in his personal life and because he doesn't have a lot of disposable income to bet with at this time. I am not condoning what he did but I am saying I understand what he decided. He seems like a good kid and I wish him the best.
