Hello, AJ -- and friends of AJ --

Anyone out there know how the Jays and Orioles are against pitchers they've never faced?  And, on first time through the order vs. second and third time?

I know the White Sox are 1-6 in that situation.  Hoping Toronto's contact lineup fares better, but given their slump, nervous.

postscript -- Jason Berken (Orioles) pitched one inning in spring training, allowing 0 R, one hit.

whatever he's done in AAA, it doesn't speak well of their evaluaiton of him that he was given only one inning in the spring. 

as before, info on the above query appreciated...

Not so fast my friends! Berken is one of the O's' hottest pitching prospects.He has 5 starts,2-0  with a 1.05 ERA. Compared to Romero's recent minor league outings it's a no brainer! If I was playing a side I'd be all over The O's at plus $$. Just gamblin with the over! Good luck guys

re: Oswalt.

I think this is a better 5-inning proposition:

In Oswalt's four recent medium to poor starts, he was fine through 5 innings, then he or the bullpen got pounded in the 6th or 7th.

Romero has 3 major league starts, shutting out Oakland (all right, Oakland, but still), allowing two runs to the Twins in Minnesota in a ND, and shutting down the Tigers 6-2.

The Orioles thought so much of Berken that they pitched him for one (1) inning in spring training...  I'm sure he's done well since, but not what I'd expect for a hot prospect.

The only thing that troubles me is, Toronto hasn't faced him before.  Many teams have trouble in this sitch (White Sox, 1-6.)  And of course, we are talking the Blue Jays bats.

With respect to you sir! I believe those 3 starts came before his stint on the DL and his most recent minor league appearances.Check out their pitching depth and you'll understand why he only pitched 1 inning in the Spring. I apologize AJ for cluttering your thread with this.. just thought I'd bring it to light! Good luck today guys.

I am all over the HOU play as well as that low of vig for Oswalt i'll take anyday versus CIN.
 
I cant join you on TOR though. I am on BAL for a few reasons. Romero was lights out earlier this year but coming off the DL who knows. BAL's young pitching prospect has been great this year and finally until TOR starts hitting the ball and breaks this slide i'll be against them or no play.

Bluejays my man, are starting a green pitcher 21 innings pitched, 4 runs scored against him in the 21 innings. Which is good in it's self. If I was to bet this game it whould be BALT 1st H, why, take a look at there bullpen. There hitting is even, at this point.

Just an opinion.
