Need to get back to getting my thoughts onto paper so to speak. We have around 3 weeks before the Olympics break and then 5 weeks of no WNBA action.
Wings @ Fever
Wings were disappointing in that 2H vs the Sun. They had them and completely fell apart. Still not a fan of Arike taking so many shots and they really need to spread the ball around. They are ranked 3rd lowest in the league for assists and the Fever are the 2nd worst. For the Fever, Lavender is a GTD and the Wings look good with no injuries. Fever are now 1-14 SU, dont think I have seen a team that bad since Dallas were Tulsa Shock. Wings in 9th after the Lynx beat the Dream so they would want a win in this game before they play Mystics, Sky x 2, Liberty, Lynx and Aces before the Olympic break. Fever almost to the point where they have to win so many games just to even try and get in the post-season which is not likely. Advantage has to be the Wings in this game and for me the Fever are just an unbackable team right now. Guessing the line will be Wings -7 and 163
Sky @ Liberty
Re-match and the Liberty have been dealt a brutal schedule. West coast trip, come back on 1 days rest and got blown out by the Sky. Another days rest and play the Sky again. Lots of games for NY in a short period of time and NY sit in 6th, Sky in 5th. Both teams look healthy with no injuries. Stokes is back if you guys didn't notice last game. Turkey didn't end up using her for the Eurobasket. On that note, Jonquel's Bosnia team just lost so she will be heading back to the US now and not sure if she will be available for the Sun's game on Sunday. Sky only has 5 games left before the break and thats Liberty, Sun, Wings, Wings and Mystics so tough stretch. NY has 7 games left before the break and it doesnt get any better as they have Sky, Dream x 2, Mystics, Fever, Wings and Sun. If the last line was Sky -6.5 and 170, dont see these lines being any different.
Mystics @ Sparks
Interesting game this one. Sparks getting a nice little helping hand from the schedulers as they are at home again whilst the Mystics are coming off that amazing win vs the Storm. Sparks just such a hard team to read this season and Mystics down several players still such as Cloud, McCall, Hines-Allen and Leslie. They signed Gustaffson to help out whilst they are down players but seeing that this game is a potential win for them, I don't see Thibault not running his players for most of this game. They play Dallas next in Dallas and if they can win this game, a nice 2-1 split on the road is a decent outcome give their injury issues. Mystics were +14 vs the Storm so I think this line might actually be Sparks -2 and 161 but I could be completely wrong and t he Mystics might be small favs. Sparks play Mercury, Aces x 2 and then the Storm x2 in the next 5 games so thats brutal for them so they could also see this game being a must win as well as they sit in 10th and with that schedule coming up, could easily see them in 11th.
