Ah, the W,....after a brutal day a few days ago, it reiterates the fact that it getting into women's heads can be problematic, at least for me. Many of you are having stellar seasons, of which you're to be congratulated.
1) Liberty/Dream UNDER 161
Teams off a good season last year tend to go UNDER as away dogs the next year. Atlanta I feel will be due a letdown after their last couple of games, and the Liberty are lucky that Kia Vaughn will not have to guard someone who has much offensive skill this game, or maybe Elizabeth Williams gets 30 this game against her. Vaughn should not be in the league. New York tried to run with Dallas, I guess with the idea that they would wear out Cambage....
"Yeah, she really got worn down hey coach?"
Atlanta has the best defense efficiency in the league and New York has the second worst now that Bill has vacated the premises. Atlanta tends to play UNDERs at home where they can get away with their clutch and grab type defense and possibly Katie will say to her team, "hey guys, we gave up 100 last game, let's slow it down and play some defense this game".
Awesome move by the Dream coach to have Angel come off the bench last game....I would hope Atlanta would continue on the same path as she is a volume shooter that can be a Vinny the Microwave.....let Sykes and Hayes be the starters who play the defense and cause havoc. As I've said before Angel is not worth the headache for me if I'm coaching her even though she can have a very good game once in awhile, I'd trade her for a dozen slightly used basketballs.
2) Vegas +9'
Bill off a loss on the road, getting a truckload of points....luvin' it. He can berate and chastise his team after quite a severe loss last game in front of the home fans, and now he can go on the road against a superior team....just how he likes it. They came back in the 4th last time they played the Mercury. Griner and company tend to play down to their competition. I would not be surprised if the Aces are leading in the 4th quarter this time, as they are quite a bit better than they were last time they played at Phoenix.
