Tiffany Hayes went 1-10 from the floor versus the Sky. The Dream's two guards are actually very good offensive players and perhaps Hayes has to adjust to not having the ball in her hands as much as she's playing small forward....she missed a lot of shots at point blank range that she would have expected herself to make.
And, I actually liked what the Atlanta coach is trying to do with this team, which is to run and gun, versus with Nikki who I never could figure out what their identity was supposed to be. Their defense is pretty bad, which a team like the Sky with Vandersloot can exploit, and they'll have to win games like the Wings used to with Fred Williams. They've got the shooters to do so, and I expect that their games will be high scoring and perhaps the totals maker will take awhile to catch up.
I haven't watched the Liberty yet, but the board here seems pretty impressed with them. Savvy pickup to get the Aussie shooter Sammy Whitcomb to go along with the superstar "I" in the backcourt. If you have two guards that can play and shoot it in today's game, you've got the advantage over a team with good big men/women almost all of the time.
Bad teams from last year typically have done well as away dogs in the first 10 games of the season in the W.
Plays:
1) Dream +150
2) Dream OVER 160'
3) Liberty +135
4) Sun +2'
I'd like to back the Sparks, but perhaps Candace Parker was the soul of this team, and now Derek Fisher is gonna have to show me he can get the job done. I have no illusions about him being able to do so, which precludes me wanting to go to the counter to back them.

Im with you , Indigo. I'm on the Dream too. I've been kinda high on them and I also don't think Hayes will shoot as poorly as she did before. Also, Indiana is just plain bad.

I don't get double teaming someone who is 40 feet out and not a threat to score. You could double team a Mitchell off of a pick and roll, but not waaaay out and not within range of a shot.
Last 90 seconds all the Dream had to do was not let the Fever make an open 3 pointer....so what happens?.....they allow two wide open threes, one of which went in. Their understanding of defense is minimal.
Dream needs to have Stricklen in the game, she's a good defender as well as an awesome three point shooter. She and Courtney Williams were good in the second half for the Dream.
That 6 foot 10 gal for the Fever is a player....waaay better than McGowan...she'll be the best big gal in the W in a couple of years.
1) Liberty +135, LOSER, obviously a terrible play...didn't watch it, thankfully
2) OVER 160' Fever, WINNER....big fourth quarter to get the OVER
3) Dream +150 WINNER

Well, we'll take it.
