This season is crazy. Some teams look good in 10-20 mins bursts, then they fall apart so quickly. Storm did it vs the Mercury the other day, the Mystics did it today vs the Fever and the Wings do it almost every game. Took the day off because I wasn't a fan of the games to be honest. Sparks, Fever and the Aces prevailed. Aces got a scare from the Liberty, Sparks seem to play well when it mattered and the Fever produced a very good 40 mins of basketball. Where was that when I backed them against the Lynx and they allowed a 23-2 run in the 2Q..
Injuries to note
Dolson OUT (Sky) Taurasi GTD (Mercury) Hartley GTD (Mercury) Bird OUT (Storm) Prince OUT (Storm)
Might be more to come out across the next few hours.
Just my thoughts, no lines yet so no plays.
Sun vs Dream
Carter is definitely the baller that Colle said she was at the beginning of the season. What a bright young player. Brings that electric energy that the Dream sometimes need. Once Hayes comes back, this will be a great duo. After this, they can kiss goodbye to Montgomery IMHO and keep Hayes along with Carter next season. Sun on the other hand, horrible looking team apart from that one game vs the Wings which they were on fire. Hard to back them and when will Miller calm he's t!ts and decide to sit down and watch his girls rather than up and down the court like a serial stalker. The bloke needs to relax. Clearly they are missing Jones and Williams, tough players to replace but they have had several games now together to get sorted and it appears they don't. Hard to back either team here but I do think the Sun can get a much needed win. The line will mostly be Sun -1 and total of 167.

No idea what is happening with the Storm in their last two second halves. They almost lost to the Dream in the final few mins as they came out so sloppy and then the other night vs Phoenix, they were cruising, up as much as 24 and then somehow fell asleep 4Q and the Mercury went on a nice little run to bring it down to 4 points but then the Storm got the win. That needs to change because against better teams they will get in trouble for doing that. Maybe they do play down to their opposition, who knows but its not good. The Sky got a much needed win against the Sun but they really do need Dolson back. She has been out a long time (feels like a long time) and no clear indication when she returns. They Sky have been playing good, their games are always close and Deshields is definitely playing with an injury hence why she is starting and only playing around 20 mins. They are running on fumes by now and its hard to back against the Storm team. Line should be Storm -5 and total 170
Wings vs Mercury
Agler and his rotation frustrate me so much. He finally gave Gray a start, no idea why she was on the bench and playing 15-20 mins. This girl is the best on the team. Arike keeps shooting, in fact after 7 games, she has taken 141 shots and leads the league in that category. The closest person to her is Griner on 106 shot attempts so it just shows you how many she is taken. She needs to calm down and give the ball to the best option on every play. She leads the league in field goals missed as well, with 83. So basically she has taken 141 shots, made just 58 of them. Not going to win games with a player taking over 20 shots per game in a 10 minute format when she is only hitting around 40%. The Mercury could be without both Taurasi and Hartley, its that's the case I would not take Mercury at all. Skylar is a turnover machine, Griner soft as tissues and their bench is weak. I would definitely back the Wings again if they are both out. Hard to give a line on this game without that information, if DT is in I would say Mercury -3 and 172 total, if she is out I would say Wings -3 and 168 total. BOL everyone, the forum is mighty quiet this year.

Aussie wll the NBL season start normally? NBL1 definitively canceled?
Hey mate
as far as I know both the NBL and WNBL have both been pushed back until November. Usually starts the first week of October but that's not certain right now because majority of the states have closed their borders so there is no travel in between states. The football codes are housing all teams in certain states to finish the season so maybe we might see a similar thing with the basketball leagues. Shortened season but in one location. NZ NBL just did that, was only a 6 week tournament but it worked well. But in saying that, NZ has done amazingly during this pandemic. They haven't had a community transmission in over 90 days now.

Taurasi is OUT, Hartley GTD. If the Wings want any hope this year of making playoffs, they need to win games like these games. Mercury only went into the bubble with 10 players so they will possibly play tonight with Justin 8 girls if Hartley is out also.

Once again, Arike is horrible. This game is over and when will Agler wake up and realise she is struggling this season? Gray plays lesser minutes but puts up more points on much better shooting. Sabally, right now is on 15 points and has taken half the amount of shots Arike has taken. This Wings team has such a good roster this season but Agler is just not seeing the potential of other players. Imagine being on a team where a player take 1/3 of the shots each game.
Moving on... As per my thread title
Seattle Storm vs Chicago Sky: Storm -4.5

Both Sparks and Liberty coming off good performances. Lynx had their winning streak broken last game vs LA so how will they respond? Mystics in a downward spiral but can they get themselves out of their slump against the Lynx? Both teams looking for a win. Fever and Aces is a good game. I think McCowan can handle her own against the Aces bigs. Both Mitchell's playing well also for the Fever and the Aces are so hot and cold this season, barely getting by the Liberty.

Seattle get the job done.
Interesting games tomorrow;
Fever vs Aces
Lynx vs Mystics
Sparks vs Liberty
