My initial thought about this game was automatically "under for sure" but then it got me thinking. Fowles got her 3rd foul around the mid way of the 2Q for the Sky and she sat out because of her fouls. What happened,, the Fever took over the game and took their lead from 6 to 14. After she came back on 3Q, she scored 21 points 2H. The 2H produced 72 points before going to OT. My issue is, with Fowles out for 6 mins during the 2Q, the Sky struggled without her. The they managed just 15 points in that 2Q. Yes Indy can also go on terrible shooting streaks as well and only shot 35.6% from the field in Game #2 but Fowles is in beast mode right now and her shooting is over 60% over these last 2 games combined.
EDD has a sore back, she stated in an article I read that she got the injury from the Dream series when she was rebounding and someone knock her. She said that ever since that hit, the pain has gotten worse. When push comes to shove, she will play the entire game. The Sky will do everything physically possible to get her on the court for at least 30-35 mins. With everything that is at stake, we are going to see FT's like we saw in Game #1. Remember they did score 15 points or something in that game with 65 seconds left due to fouling.
Game #2 also saw the Fever shot just 26% from beyond the arc and even though these stats include 2 x OT, January went 0-5, Catchings 0-3 and Zellous 2-8. Do you think we will see these 3 girls go 2-16 in this game from the 3 point line? I don't think so, we might but I doubt it. The Fever know EDD is hurting, they are going to be running and gunning in this game as the Sky girls have clocked up an extra game over the past couple of days compared to the Fever girls. This will be the Sky's 6th game in 12 days .
Prince also went 0-9 in Game #2. So lets think about this, Prince went 0-9, Catchings 7-22, January 3-16 and Zellous 7-21. So out of these 4 girls, we saw just 17 shots from 68 = 25%. Still the game hit 142 before OT. I just don't see these 4 girls continue to hit just 25% of their shot in Game #3.
Lets look at the 2 games in total and the girls shooting %'s for those games combined.
Fever
Catchings 9-34 = 26.47%
Larkins: 6-10 = 60%
Zellous: 14-35 = 40%
Coleman: 6-12 = 50%
January: 8-31 = 25.80%
Bench: 13-36 = 36%
January and Catchings together have shot just 17 from 65 - 26.15%
Sky
EDD: 10-23 = 43.47%
Fowles: 18-26 = 69%
Prince: 2-16 = 12.5%
Young: 5-16 = 31.25%
CVS: 6-16 = 37.5%
Bench: 20-30 = 66.66%
Can Prince really keep shooting at 12.5%???
I just can't see the bad shooting continuing in this game. Yes its going to be slow at times but I still think with everything on line, we see better shooting & plenty of FT's during the game and towards the end.
The total is at 145.5 right now. I will be watching this total and seeing where it goes. Hopefully further down but we shall see. Won't post my play until later on but you know which way I am heavily leaning.
