So we are into the last few days before the break. We have Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then the All-Star break.
Sunday
Storm @ Dream
Sun @ Wings
Sparks @ Sky
Fever @ Aces
Tuesday
Mystics @ Sun
Storm @ Fever
Liberty @ Lynx
Dream @ Sparks
Wednesday
Sky @ Mercury
As you can see, some teams have 2 left, others have just 1 game left. The Aces play their last game tomorrow before the break and Mercury can some rest before playing their last game against Chicago on Wednesday.
The Sparks are in a very strange scheduling spot. They played at home on Friday night, lost S/U to the Fever. Flew out Saturday to Chicago and to play the Sky on Sunday and then head straight back home to face the Dream on Tuesday. Very odd to have a team from opposition conference going across country and then back again all within 2-3 days.
The standings are so tight right now after the Mercury, Sparks and Wings lost their last game and the Lynx winning their latest.
Standings
1. Storm
2. Dream
3. Mercury
4. Lynx
5. Mercury
6. Wings
7. Mystics
8. Sun
9. Aces
from 4th spot to 7th, those 4 teams are all on 583%, so massive if one loses and the other wins. This final part of the season is going to be great and I think we see how are the contenders and who are the pretenders.
Plays coming once my book gives me some spreads and totals.

Was waiting on injury news and both Beard and Ogwumikecare out again for this game. Losing your two best defenders is going to hurt the Sparks and I feel as though the Sky can play their fast tempo game without them being there. Last meeting in Chicago went under but both LA players played that game. The Sky caught the Wings in a bad spot the other night and I feel as though the Sparks are in a bad spot as well having just played the other day in LA and then returning home after this East coast game to play the defensive minded Dream in Tuesday. Think this game goes down to wire, something like 88-85

The Sky seem to be so competitive first half in games and then go to the locker room and come out so flat. Just amazing how teams can do that at times. It’s like the break doesn’t so then any good and they would probably be better if they stayed on the court. Sparks with a big important win but no travel home to face Atlanta. That’s going to be a good game.

DC, the WNBA is a great league and people either hate it or love it. Wagers and I love it and obviously you do as well. It’s a league where I think the right amount of games are played. Unlike the NBA where almost 30% of the teams know they aren’t making the playoffs after about 50 games, and still have 32 to play before their season ends, the WNBA keeps almost all teams competitive all season long. Yes this year is a little bit of a letdown as Sky, Fever and Liberty know they can’t make the post-season but at least it’s not dragged out for too long. Mathematically Sky and Liberty can still make it but it won’t happen but their season will be finished in just a months time.

Good call on the Over. Line for Sparks / Dream will be an interesting one. Dream are rolling. They are actually pretty stacked and just took a while to mesh with a new coach (who I actually think is pretty good, one of the hardest working coaches in the WNBA apparently). I feel like Sparks can win when they want to though and really are just waiting for playoffs (unlike Lynx who are not only waiting for playoffs, but look kinda old this year and are not deep at all). Feel like you gotta go with the hot hand in this one but more likely a game to watch and stay off of. Line will probably be -2 / -5 Sparks range.....

Even though a few teams are out of playoffs already the seeding is still wayyyy up in the air and almost every game has playoff implications. These chicks are playing pretty damn hard every game.
