So the reg season finishes up on 8th September and we have 15 playing days left. Plenty to play for between the top 8 teams, the bottom 4 teams are almost eliminated and to be honest, none of them deserve to be in the playoffs IMHO.
Wings @ Sun
The Wings ballin after that fight with Mercury. They have won 3 straight now and head to the Sun who are coming off a miracle comeback vs the Storm. Now Davis misses this game as Thornton and Anigwe are now back with the team after their 2 game suspension. Latest injury news is that Banham is questionable for the Sun as she left the last game with an ankle injury. I'am not sure if Miller will risk losing another bench player and might give her some time off. Remember the last meeting? Sun laying -9 in Dallas and the Wings pulled off the upset win. If this line is around the same, you would have to take the Sun because they are so strong at home being 12-1 and the Wings are 1-11 on the road. Massive disparity between the two. Estimate the line will be Sun -11 and total of 151.
Fever @ Mystics
Mystics have now made the playoffs, even if they lose every single game they are in. But I don't see them stopping, they are on cruise control. Toliver is out for this game again but they don't need her. Fever look to be healthy and just playing for pride now seeing that they are 3 games behind the Mercury and only have 9 games. Really can't see them catching up with Mercury especially once Griner comes back and the Mercury will push hard. The last 2 games have been high scoring in this series, with the Mystics beating the Fever recently 91-78 (closing line was -13.5). Very hard to back poor teams this late in the season especially when they are in possible tank mode (hope you all read my thread last time to see how the draft works). Fever and Liberty in prime position for getting the highest rank, Liberty lost yesterday. Not saying that the Fever wins this game but be very careful when backing the bottom 4. Estimate would be the same, Mystics -12.5 and 160.
Aces @ Sky
Sky absolutely on fire, covered the last 7 and now putting pressure on the Sparks to try and get a top 4 seed. Aces will have Aja Wilson back for this game. Will she disrupt the Aces tomorrow? I don't think she will. I think the is a great player and will fit straight back in. Laimbeer has an issue though because when Aja and Liz are on the floor at the at the same they struggle at times. The Sky seem to be happy and need to take advantage of being at home again because they only have 4 games left at home which includes this one.This game is a massive game for both, because if the Sky win they can get closer to the Aces as well as the Aces have played 1 game extra and only have 8 games left whereas the Sky have 9 games left. Line will be around Aces -1 and total of 161.
Liberty @ Mercury
Griner's last game on her suspension. They somehow won vs the Dream after the Dream collapsed 4Q which I believe was tanking. They didn't want to win that game yesterday and that was pretty obvious in the 4Q. They are actually in the 4th spot for the draft, they need to keep losing in order to get the 3rd spot. The Wings winning the other day helped them. I dont think the Wings will tank too much though because they have Arike and also McCarty-Williams and Gustafson who are all rookies and mix them with Jefferson next season and Skylar, its a decent looking team. Back to this game, I don't have a lean and I am not sure which team shows up, definite no play for me. Line should be Mercury -4 and 153.
Lynx @ Storm
Now this is a game with massive rewards. Lynx in 7th, Storm in 6 and only half a game in front of the Lynx. The Storm have actually played an extra game as well, so they only have 7 left and the Lynx have 8. Storm has the tie-breaker right now, 2-1 with this being the last game. Its almost a must win for the Lynx if they want a home elimination game in Round 1 of the post-season. Canada is still questionable and the Lynx seem to be healthy with no injury reports. The last meeting saw Seattle win 90-79 in Minny but I feel as though we see a good old fashion grind-em kind of game and I have a lean on the under for this game initially with so much on line for both teams. I expect a playoff atmosphere. Line should be Storm -2 and 151 total.
BOL everyone, no lines as usual. It would be nice for the books to release the lines a day early seeing that there is no action today.
