Will update the contest thread soon, when I get home from work. Just wanted to get my thoughts out there as usual..
Stars @ Sun (Line Stars +4.5 & 149)
Gotta say I lean the Stars, why? Because they just narrowly lost to a Sparks team that is a good team now with Parker back. The Sun have been declining for awhile now and the Stars actually are a good team especially against Eastern teams. Both teams need a win to keep their playoffs lives afloat and I think the Stars bench is deeper than the Sun + they have the shooters such as Perkins and McBride. Will see where this line goes..Sun are also in a bad spot, played on the road vs the Fever game before, game before that they were at home and now back to home. Stars have the Mystics after this game which is a B2B which I think they will get flogged again. No way does Dan Hughes want to go 0-2 in the next 2 days. I think his team wakes up in this game and puts a good performance in.. There was a game that I had a same feeling about last season with the Stars on the road, similar position to this (not as bad) and they went to NY and thumped them something like 89-75. This is the game they need because as stated, they have Mystics followed by Storm x 2 and the Lynx. They can potentially win 1 if not both games vs the Storm but no chance vs the Mystics and Lynx.
Fever @ Sky (Fever +6 &162.5)
Interesting line... Sky have failed to cover their last 2 at home. Its pretty much the same line the Mystics were given the other day and covered and lost by 3. Are the Fever the same as the Mystics? I kind of think so. I also think that the Fever's bench is better than the Sky as well. Fever's 3 point shooting is one of the best in the league and the Sky is one of the worst for defending the 3 ball. Lean the Sky and the over because the Fever love playing fast tempo teams and the Sky are very fast...
Lynx @ Sparks (Lynx -2.5 & 152.5)
WOW, Lynx only -2.5 in LA vs the Sparks? This is a very interesting line IMHO. Why only -2.5? Lean over as well because Parker brings so much offensive power to the Sparks. Lynx hitting 80+ in their last 2 games as well. This game has more meaning to the Sparks then the Lynx team. Lynx sitting pretty in 1st, Sparks making a small comeback and need to just keep winning. Think I will stay away from this game because that line is very short and the Lynx have had meltdowns before in LA over the past few seasons.
Shock @ Mercury (Shock +8.5 and 151.5)
Lean the Shock. Yes they are struggling right now but they are awesome on the road as dogs. Mercury were out of the game the other day vs Tulsa in Tulsa and the Shock feel apart 2H to only score 26 points and the Mercury went on a crazy 19-5 run to win and cover. Well, the Mercury have the Lynx on deck after this game and I think that can be a potential look ahead spot. After the Lynx they also have the Sky as well. Think the Shock can keep this within the 8 points they have been given but will wait closer to tip-off as usual.
