Masters Predictions, Picks and Golf Best Bets for Round 3: Spieth's Terrible Tournament Continues

Jordan Spieth has had a Masters to forget thus far, with his tee-to-green play paling in comparison to that of Joaquin Niemann. Look for the latter to win that head-to-head, per Neil Parker's golf betting picks.

The 2025 Masters is wide-open with one of the best leaderboards in recent memory.

Rory McIlroy captured the crowds at Augusta National Golf Club with the low round Friday to slot in tied for third, and first-round leader Justin Rose fired a Friday 71 to play with reigning U.S. Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau in the final pairing on "moving day."

It’s going to be an exciting weekend, and here are my top Round 3 Masters predictions for Saturday, April 12.

Best Masters Round 3 predictions

Top 10 finish: Collin Morikawa
-110 at DraftKings

The levee hasn’t fully broken for Collin Morikawa just yet, and he’s weathered the storm to sit T12 despite a few bad stretches through the first 36 holes.

Morikawa gained true strokes across the board in Round 2 and improved in all four metrics except off-the-tee play to rank 16th in true strokes gained tee-to-green and 18th in true strokes on approaches and 28th in putting.

I think the best is yet to come for the two-time major champion as the pressure intensifies.

Matchup pick: Joaquin Niemann Over Jordan Spieth
-115 at DraftKings

Joaquin Niemann ranks 21st in true strokes gained on approaches through two rounds and Jordan Spieth ranks 93rd. The difference through 36 holes has been Spieth gaining +1.26 true strokes per round on the greens compared to Niemann losing -0.59.

Additionally, there’s a huge gap in the tee-to-green play. Spieth has lost -1.13 true strokes, while Niemann has gained 0.73.

Experience at Augusta National is critical, but Niemann will be teeing it for the 19th time, and he’s coming off a T22 in 2024 and T16 in 2023, so he’s fully accumulated to the nuances.

Matchup pick: Harris English Over Min Woo Lee
+125 at DraftKings

Min Woo Lee has lost true strokes putting in consecutive rounds to start the 2025 Masters, and he’s only gained 0.02 true strokes on approaches. In comparison, Harris English ranked 42nd in true strokes gained putting (+0.34) and sixth in on approaches.

English is dinged in the off-the-tee metrics because of his distance, but he’s still hit 18 of 28 fairways and 22 of 36 greens to position himself to score and keep big numbers off his card.

There’s way too much volatility in Lee’s putting and potential to put squares on the card with Augusta National likely to play its toughest Saturday.
