Masters outright picks
Outright pick: Rory McIlroy
+675 at bet365
With three worldwide wins and another five Top-5 finishes through 11 events since wrapping up his 2024 PGA Tour season, no one's heading to Augusta National in better form than Rory McIlroy. His statistical profile jumps off the page, too.
He's gained true strokes across the board during the stretch while leading the PGA Tour in adjusted scoring average. He’s also 11th in birdie-or-better percentage and 10th in bogey avoidance to reinforce just how tidy and well-rounded his game is.
Outright pick: Collin Morikawa
+1800 at DraftKings
The two-time major champion has gained true strokes across the board in his past four Masters appearances to card three consecutive Top 10s, with a T3 last year and a solo-fifth in 2022.
Collin Morikawa has also played the weekend in 22 consecutive events while ranking second in true strokes gained tee-to-green and third in driving accuracy in this field during the nearly flawless run. The elite ball-striking will do the heavy lifting, so Morikawa just needs enough putts to fall.
Masters prop picks
Nationality pick: Corey Conners Top Canadian
+105 at DraftKings
Turn back the clock two years, and Corey Conners was heading to the 2023 Masters with three straight Top-10 results. While he played poorly and missed the cut, he bounced back with a respectable T38 in the 2024 edition while gaining true strokes on approach and on the greens.
He heads to the season's first major in incredible form this year. He’s carded four consecutive Top 10s while gaining true strokes across the board, including ranking third in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green.
I also recommend keeping an eye out for odds boosts connected to Conners because there will likely be multiple offers on both his outright price and in specific finishing-position markets.
Finishing position pick: Lucas Glover Top 40
-110 at BetMGM
The rejuvenated veteran finished T20 in last year’s Masters to match his prior best finish that came in 2007. This will be Lucas Glover's 11th trip to Augusta National, and he’s played the weekend in six of those previous 10.
Glover’s tee-to-green game has been incredible since his late-career resurgence, which includes consecutive wins in August 2023 and seven more Top 5s since July 2023. He ranks third in this field in true strokes gained on approach, fifth in driving accuracy, and 20th in true strokes gained tee-to-green during the stretch.
Additionally, he hasn’t lost true strokes in any other metric and also finished 11th in true strokes gained putting in the 2024 Masters.

Masters first-round pick
Round 1 pick: Jon Rahm Over 10.5 pars
-120 at bet365
Jon Rahm has five straight Top-10 finishes while gaining true strokes across the board to start his LIV Golf season, and the 2023 Masters champ carded four consecutive Top 10s at Augusta National from 2018 to 2021.
While I’m expecting statistical correction coming in Rahm’s approach play, I still think he will have a lot of tap-in pars Thursday because his irons aren’t completely dialed in. Rahm ranks 42nd in this field in true strokes gained on approach through his past five events.
On the flip side, he's also gained true strokes on approach in each of his past four trips to the Masters, so I‘m not expecting a poor, ball-striking performance by any means and expect him to improve in the metric this week.
Top LIV Golfer
Jon Rahm
+320 at bet365
The 2023 Masters champion has five consecutive Top 10 finishes while gaining true strokes across the board to start his LIV Golf season, and he should be better prepared for Augusta without having to defend a title this time around. After all, Jon Rahm carded four straight Top 10s here from 2018 to 2021.
Additionally, there’s potential for a splash of sneaky statistical correction from Rahm. He’s gained true strokes on approach in each of his past four trips to the Masters, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he improved in the metric this week. Rahm ranks 42nd in this field in true strokes gained on approach with a likely unsustainably low +0.33 strokes per round.
