The Match 9 prediction
Rory McIlroy is the best golfer of the four and the fact he's played in this type of setting before gives him an edge, if one can even be had in something of this nature.
He'll be inclined to sling it off the tee and given the format, the misses with the driver shouldn't be penalized as much as the potential positioning will be rewarded. Combine that length with the experience and you get a guy that should come out on top.
Pick: Rory McIlroy to win (+210 at DraftKings)
Favorites to win The Match 9
Rory McIlroy (+210)
Rory McIlroy is the betting favorite at DraftKings to win this edition of The Match with +210 odds. That shouldn't come as a surprise considering his impressive resume and the fact he's played one of these events before.
Max Homa (+230)
Unsurprisingly, the second choice on the betting board is Max Homa, who's known just as much for his social media activity as he is for his golf game.
With that said, he's got six PGA Tour wins to his name and was named to his first Ryder Cup team last year.
Rose Zhang (+300)
Rose Zhang appears to be the next big thing in women's golf. The 20-year-old has won more collegiate titles at Stanford than Tiger Woods did in his time at Palo Alto.
Her time on the LPGA — while brief — has been nothing short of sensational. She won in her LPGA debut, making her the first person to do so in 72 years. She's got game and could be a real dark horse.
Lexi Thompson (+300)
Lexi Thompson turned professional at the young age of 15 and has been an LPGA mainstay for the better part of a decade. She's got 15 wins to her name and she became just the seventh woman to tee it up in a PGA event when she played the Shriners back in October.

What is the format for The Match?
The format for this year's edition is a first of its kind. It will forgo the team aspect in favor of a mixed-skins foursome. As part of the skins competition, each hole will be worth a certain dollar amount for charity, and the golfer who has earned the most money at the end of 12 holes will be declared the winner. All four competitors will utilize the same tees for the four par-3 holes on the course. The other eight holes will have different tees and yardages for the men and women.
