The PGA Tour heads to TPC Louisiana this week for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and shifts gears to a two-man team event.
While Defending champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry headline the betting favorites in the Zurich Classic odds, my top longshot and sleeper golf picks are looking further down the board and targeting a trio of teams with past success in the team event.
Zurich Classic sleeper picks
- Taylor/Hadwin to win outright (+4000 at Caesars)
- Higgo/Fox to win outright (+4000 at Caesars)

Zurich Classic sleeper predictions
Sleeper pick to win: Nick Taylor/Adam Hadwin
+4000 at Caesars
The Canadian duo will hit TPC Louisiana for the third consecutive year, and they’ve carded a solo-second and solo-10th in their first two trips. Adam Hadwin’s game isn’t nearly as sharp as Nick Taylor’s but the countrymen have familiarity with the track and the unique partner format.
Additionally, both are above the PGA Tour average in birdie-or-better percentage and putting average inside 10 feet.
Sleeper pick to win: Garrick Higgo/Ryan Fox
+4000 at Caesars
This is a returning team that finished T4 last year, and Garrick Higgo also partnered with Brendan Grace to finish T4 in 2022. Both Higgo and Ryan Fox have worldwide wins on their resumes, including Higgo breaking through to win last week’s Corales Puntacana Championship.
While Fox is still chasing his first PGA Tour win, he’s a four-time DP World Tour winner and is above average in both adjusted scoring and birdie average. These two could easily ham-and-egg it again for another solid showing in Louisiana.
Sleeper pick to win: Nick Watney/Charley Hoffman
+30000 at bet365
This will be the eighth time Nick Watney and Charley Hoffman have partnered in the Zurich Classic, and they’ve played the weekend in six of their past seven trips with five Top 20s, including a T19 and T11 the past two years.
Watney didn’t earn his PGA Card this fall, and he just missed the cut in the Puntacana Championship, so he and Hoffman have long odds for a reason. Still, this is obviously a welcomed tradition for the duo, and they’ve had a lot of success at the track.
While this recommendation lands in the heart of true flier territory, there was an out-of-nowhere winning team just two years ago. Additionally, an accompanying Top 20 bet at +475 odds at bet365 is definitely in play.
