bet365 is live in a new market and adding to its North American portfolio.

The global legal sports betting operator was up and running Tuesday morning in Louisiana, giving bet365 its seventh U.S. state.

The book, which has been involved in online sports betting for 20 years, also operates in Iowa, Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio, and Kentucky, as well as Ontario, Canada.

Bettors in the Pelican State woke up to a $365 bonus when they sign up, use promo code COVERS, deposit $10, and bet at least $1.

Growing in the U.S.

Despite being well-renowned around the world, U.K.-based bet365 has put a lot into the North American market, including U.S.-based customer service and partnerships with five pro teams.

Last week, bet365 became the first sportsbook in North Carolina to ink a deal with a team from the Tar Heel State as the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets made bet365 the official sportsbook of the franchise. North Carolina sports betting goes live in 2024.

The popular sportsbook is making some headway in market share nationally. The operator has risen to third among sportsbooks in the heavily populated market of Ohio, and its app downloads jumped more than 30% last month.

Getting started in Louisiana

This is the second new sportsbook to launch this month in Louisiana, as ESPN BET went live last week in 55 parishes.

There’s now plenty of competition in the Pelican State, which also has FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, PointsBet, BetRivers, and Betfred operating in the market.  WynnBet left the Pelican State in August.

Louisiana, where online sports betting went live in January 2022, took in more than $300 million in wagers in October.
