After a long delay, legal sports betting operator Betfred opened its Nevada sportsbook just in time for the Super Bowl.
“This facility means so much to me and the entire Betfred team as we enter into the Nevada market, the sports betting capital of the world, ready to wow sports fans with a leading, modern facility at Mohegan Casino Las Vegas,” said Betfred founder Fred Done in a press release issued on Thursday.
The 1,300 square foot space will have 5 large screen TVs and seating for around 100 bettors. When the sportsbook opens this afternoon, Cincinnati Bengals running back and UNLV alum Ickey Woods will place the first bet.

Betfred’s expansion
Betfred’s attempt to enter the Nevada sports betting market has been years in the making. The pandemic hurt the UK operator’s ability to get everything finalized, but luckily, will open just in time for the big game on February 12.
Betfred has previously signed a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals as well as partnered with the Las Vegas Golden Knights, coinciding with their 2023 market launches. Their agreement with the Golden Knights not only includes signage in the arena but also interactive contests at intermission.
Along with Ohio and Nevada, Betfred launched in Virginia earlier this month thanks to their partnership with Loudon United FC, a local soccer club.
Nevada is one of 10 states the UK online sports betting site is licensed in (Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington).
