A bettor turned $25 into $35,567 by successfully predicting all eight NFL division winners this season.
The +187,064 parlay was placed at BetMGM and came down to the final game of the NFL’s regular season.
The Kansas City Chiefs had the shortest odds in the parlay at -200 to win the AFC West. That leg easily cashed on Dec. 8.
The longest odds were on the Los Angeles Rams at +400. They needed until Week 17 to claim that title, holding off the Seattle Seahawks.
The Buffalo Bills (+129), Philadelphia Eagles (+129), and Houston Texans (+160) won their respective divisions relatively easily.
Early sweats
However, there were three major sweats heading into the final weekend.
The Baltimore Ravens (+110) were able to cash the AFC North leg with four consecutive wins to end the season, including a 35-10 victory as a 20-point favorite on Saturday against the Cleveland Browns to clinch the division over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+260) needed a second-half rally to upend the New Orleans Saints 27-19 in an early Sunday game that also won them the NFC South. The two-touchdown underdogs had the Bucs on the ropes with the ball late in the fourth quarter.
Final game
Then the bettor had to wait out the Sunday night game between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings to see who would win the NFC North. Not only was the division on the line, but so was the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage in the playoffs.
The Lions were a 2.5-point favorite and +140 to win the division in the parlay, so there might have been some hedging.
As it turned out, the bettor didn’t need it. The Lions rolled past the Vikings 31-9 behind four touchdowns by running back Jahmyr Gibbs. That final leg cashed the parlay.
