Betr Holdings, Inc., one of the country’s leading sports gaming and media companies, has officially announced it has acquired a license to Huddle Tech’s sports gaming technology, inching closer to launching its new Betr Sportsbook.

Betr was founded in 2022 by Joey Levy and social media influencer and boxer, Jake Paul, initially offering micro-betting markets to tap into the rise of live in-game betting popularity. It’s been a breakthrough year in 2024 for Betr, as the company recently received a $15 million investment to increase its valuation to $375 million, thanks to investments from Harmony Partners and 10x Capital in March.

BetrPicks is currently licensed and operational in 24 states, offering sports bettors a daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform. Now, following the acquisition of Huddle Tech’s sports gaming technology, Betr is closer to launching its online sportsbook, with the beta currently active in Ohio and Virginia.

The company has plans to expand the Betr Sportsbook platform into Indiana, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Kentucky, and Maryland as well. This also includes launching an online casino with an iGaming product set to go live in Pennsylvania by the end of 2024.

“We expect this transaction to be transformative for Betr … will be more advanced or at least on par from a sports gaming content standpoint than our competitors,” said Levy. “We now have the capability to build our own product and technology and are no longer reliant on third parties in a significant way.”

Betr features

Huddle’s software will enable Betr to offer best-in-class odds-making, risk, and trading tools, as well as Same Game Parlays, Same Game Parlay+, micro-markets, player props, futures, exotics, as well as moneyline, point spread, and totals for pre-event and in-play betting markets.

“We are thrilled to see Betr utilize our software technology to enhance their sports gaming offerings,” CEO of Huddle, Francesco Borgosano, stated. “Betr’s vision aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and excellence in the iGaming sector, and we look forward to supporting their growth and success in the U.S. market.”

The current Betr Sportsbook beta is already using Huddle’s software in Ohio and Virginia. Customers also gain access to unique features that include a mixture of social media and viral short-form videos, along with all of the available sports betting markets, bet types, and odds to wager.

Betr has temporary sports wagering licenses in Indiana and Maryland while securing market access for sports wagering in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Kentucky. Betr Sportsbook will initially launch its online sportsbook in Ohio and Virginia, with the goal of going live in conjunction with the 2024 NFL regular season.
