Caitlin Clark is not only a women’s basketball phenomenon – she has also become instant appointment betting.
As Clark prepares to make her WNBA debut Tuesday night in the Indiana Fever’s season opener against the host Connecticut Sun, Clark-centered betting markets have experienced an immediate sonic boom as customers flood their sportsbooks with wagers.
BetMGM reported early Tuesday afternoon that the Fever-Sun matchup was easily the most bet game on the three-game opening-night WNBA schedule and that Clark’s point prop is drawing massive action:
Per @BetMGM, there are 3X as many bets on Fever-Sun than any of the WNBA games today.

The Over on Caitlin Clark's points prop is the most bet player prop today (NBA + WNBA).
In addition, 80% of bets on Over 3.5 3PM and 74% of bets on Over 6.5 assists for Clark.
Clark is sitting at -105 on her Over 21.5 points prop and -125 on the U21.5. She averaged 31.6 points in her final collegiate season with the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2023-24 en route to becoming the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball history.
Tuesday’s early betting trends are no surprise to those in the sports betting sphere. Jason Logan shared last week that the Fever have seen nearly half of the total betting action on the WNBA championship despite going a combined 18-58 SU the past two seasons.
“The first two games they play will likely have an adjusted spread,” Aron Wattleworth, trading manager at bet365, told Covers. “Definitely expect more moneyline action on Indiana early on but spread action will be the main market to see a large rise in the earlier portion of the season, given the opponents they have.”
The Fever opened as 5.5-point underdogs to the Sun when the line first opened, but it has moved all the way to +7.5 at BetMGM as of early Tuesday afternoon.
As for Clark, her point total might seem low given her proficiency in college, but it’s unlikely that she’ll see similar success in the WNBA, at least immediately – and if she does, you can be sure that sportsbooks will be aggressive in moving her point total.
Per Logan, the Fever will have 36 of their 40 games televised by the WNBA’s national broadcast and streaming partners — the most of any team this season. Tuesday’s opening game at Connecticut will be available on ESPN2 but will also be the first live sporting event to stream on Disney+.
