With the 2024-25 NFL season kicking off earlier this month, U.K.-based casino game developer Crucible Gaming has announced the launch of a new football-themed slot game.
Titled "Quarterback Fields of Glory," the game features voiceovers from a real U.S. sportscaster and offers a range of bonus features to draw in NFL fans and slot enthusiasts alike.
“If there’s one thing we understand about the US, it’s that people truly love their football," Edward Byard, founder and CEO of Crucible Gaming, told Covers. "With the brand-new NFL season underway we wanted to bring a game to America that embodied that passion. Quarterback Fields of Glory is our homage to the sport, and with so many engaging features and mechanics that makes this game special, we believe that we’ve delivered on that goal.”
The game was released in the U.S. in cooperation with Light & Wonder iGaming.
Bonus features
Set on a 5x3 grid, the game offers 243 ways to win with every spin. Players can trigger three bonus features during the base game, including Free Spins, the Foam Finger Bonus, and the Fields of Glory Bonus.
The Free Spins bonus is the only feature players can retrigger at any time. It awards ten free spins whenever the player lands scatter symbols on reels one, three, and five. As the name suggests, these provide the same opportunity to win as regular spins, but with no cost.
Players can enjoy the Foam Finger Bonus round when three to five foam fingers land anywhere on the reels. During the bonus round, players will get to choose a symbol, which could reveal a prize worth up to 1,000 times their bet amount. So if the player bets $1, they could be taking up to $1,000 home from this feature alone.
Lastly, the Fields of Glory bonus is activated when the Quarterback and Receiver symbols land on reels one and five. Once triggered, it offers players the choice of three features. One of these is the Pick a Ball pick and click mini-game, awarding a random prize. Run the Yards awards a 1x multiplier for every yard a player runs up the field, while Field Goal offers a prize for kicking the ball between the posts.
Light & Wonder partnership
Crucible Gaming’s latest release comes as part of its ongoing partnership with Light & Wonder.
After signing an exclusivity agreement in February, the collaboration allows Crucible Gaming to expand its reach by launching its titles through Light & Wonder’s global gaming platform. The partnership adds to the publisher's portfolio of over 3,500 games from in-house and third-party studios.
