One of America’s largest sports betting operators has debuted a new wagering feature.
DraftKings has launched a new sportsbook offering, “Progressive Parlays,” adding a new wrinkle for users of the second-largest operator in the U.S. in terms of market share at 31%.
The Progressive Parlays feature — first announced in November — allows users to create parlays that offer potential profits even if one or more legs lose. The feature lets bettors build a parlay of up to 12 legs based on “over/under” betting markets. The winnings of Progressive Parlays are based on the number of legs, which also dictates how many ways there are to win.
“DraftKings is committed to constantly creating new ways for our customers to engage with the sports and athletes they love,” said DraftKings CPO Corey Gottlieb. “This product provides the excitement of building a parlay, but with the added opportunity of potentially winning even if every leg doesn’t hit. It’s the best of both worlds.”
Progressive Parlays are powered by DraftKings’ in-house content engine and are currently available to customers in Connecticut, Iowa, Illinois, Oregon, Tennessee, and Wyoming.
Building portfolio
DraftKings’ launch of Progressive Parlays adds to new investments in innovation. Earlier this month, the Boston-based company launched Pick6 — a new fantasy sports game. The product allows DraftKings customers to compete head-to-head rather than against the house. Pick6, which is available for NBA and NFL games, offers “more or less” markets for player statistics.
The fantasy sports game has its own standalone app, which had initial launches in Maryland, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
