Fanatics Sportsbook is live in its largest market yet.

The legal sports betting operator that bought out PointsBet’s U.S. holdings last year migrated Pennsylvania to the new platform and launched at around 11 a.m. ET on Monday, Fanatics Betting and Gaming announced.

Fanatics’ app is now active in 11 U.S. markets and also debuted in Vermont when sports betting went live on Jan. 11. The company announced last week that it was shutting down the PointsBet app in February in Maryland, where Fanatics was already a licensed operator before it purchased PointsBet U.S. last August.

The sportsbook operator joins a top-5 market nationally in terms of handle and also offers plenty of competition with the likes of FanDuel, BetMGM, DraftKings, ESPN BET, among others.
Fanatics told Covers that the first bet placed in Pennsylvania was a $5 four-leg parlay in Monday’s game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers.

The wager included Joel Embiid alternate points +34.5 (-130) and alt. rebounds +13.5 (+110), and Victor Wembanyama alt. points +24.5 (+140) and alt. rebounds +9.5 (-105).

iGaming, too

Pennsylvania also launched Fanatics Casino, joining Wyoming as the only two states to offer the gaming company’s expanded iGaming product, including live dealers and a portfolio of games.

Fanatics has partnered with Evolution to provide live blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat, and poker variants. Light & Wonder provides Fanatics Casino with digital slot gaming.

Offers and rewards

Fanatics is being supervised by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board during a two-day “soft launch,” which doesn’t restrict customer downloads or signups.

PointsBet account holders can access the new Fanatics app through their previous log-ins. Fanatics offers customers up to 5% of wagers back in the form of FanCash, which can be used as bonus bets or at the retail site fanatics.com.

Fanatics is one of the few sportsbooks to use BetVision, a Genius Sports Limited product that allows live streaming and wagering on select football games through the mobile app.
