More and more, bettors are keeping tabs on what they actually wager during a particular sports season and on what they risk from a week-to-week and monthly basis.
In line with that thinking, more and more sports betting platforms are offering easy-to-use methods for an individual to make them a better and more responsible consumer.
In fact, FanDuel announced that nearly half of their seven million customers reviewed their individual play activity during the NFL season by utilizing the company's My Spend tool, a new personalized and responsible gaming dashboard. The tool allows FanDuel customers to review their own spending patterns, manage their budget, and see how long they are on the site every time they access their account.
Recent consumer testing revealed that three out of four customers who saw the recent My Spend advertisements the company has been running during the NFL playoffs agreed that tools like this are helpful for all players to track and manage their play.
FanDuel has also introduced its latest Responsible Gaming tool – deposit alerts – which enables customers to create daily, weekly, and monthly target budgets and receive a notification when they reach the amount they've set. They can find this new feature in the responsible gaming section of the app.
"We want our customers to know what they are spending and to ensure they are within their comfort zone. Since the launch of My Spend, we've seen a meaningful rise in engagement with tools that give our customers the ability to create a personalized plan to manage their play," said Jill Watkins, senior commercial director of responsible gaming at FanDuel. "We're encouraged by the progress and remain steadfast in our commitment to making responsible play a natural part of the FanDuel experience for all customers."
FanDuel will also be expanding efforts to leverage technology to enable early intervention when at-risk behavior is identified with new initiatives to be announced later this year.
