A Black Friday matchup between Iowa and Nebraska will be remembered as the lowest betting total in college football history.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers hosted the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday at Memorial Stadium in what would be the lowest Over/Under betting total in college football history at 24.5 points across several operators.

During the cold afternoon rivalry game for the Heroes Trophy, which had its first meeting in 1891, the Hawkeyes defeated the Huskers 13-10 on a field goal at the buzzer, cashing the Under.

The win allowed the Hawkeyes to clinch an appearance in the Big Ten Championship game on December 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Iowa is set to face the winner of Saturday's marquee clash between Ohio State and Michigan.

Big win for sportsbooks

Week 13's Iowa-Nebraska matchup proved to be super profitable for gambling operators.

The total, which crept up to 25.5 at some sportsbooks due to heavy action, allowed operators to reap the benefits of an abundance of wagers on the over.

Sportsbooks will be quick to determine next week’s total following the conclusion of Ohio State vs. Michigan.
