The Garden State posted an improvement in sports betting revenue for the month of November.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that the state’s sports betting operators generated $95.9 million in gross revenue in November 2023 — a 19.2% increase year-over-year. The results also marked a month-over-month increase as New Jersey posted $92.3 million in gross gaming revenue from sports wagering in October 2023.
The Garden State saw total gaming revenue in November reach $482.4 million, up from $441.1 million for the same month last year. New Jersey’s results in November 2023 were driven by sports betting and casino wins at hotel properties across the state.
New Jersey, which has nine casinos, reported $214.9 million in casino wins, nearly matching results from November 2022. The properties also disclosed $2.62 billion in wins for the year to date.
Online demand
New Jersey reported a total sports betting handle of $1.6 billion for November 2023, compared to a $1.3 billion handle the month prior. The state, which is home to 16 regulated online sports betting sites, saw its online handle for November 2023 make up $1.5 billion of the total handle.
Retail sportsbooks in New Jersey posted a monthly handle of $55.2 million for November 2023. The year-to-date retail handle has reached $477.4 million, while online handle is at $10.2 billion.
As of Nov. 30, New Jersey ranks second behind New York for the highest year-to-date handle.
