One of the biggest daily fantasy sports (DFS) operators in North America, PrizePicks, has announced a responsible gaming collaboration with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to support individuals dealing with problem gaming and other related challenges.
Kindbridge is a mental health service provider that is dedicated to supporting players facing challenges related to problem gambling and other mental health issues. Kindbridge has already partnered with BetMGM in Colorado and DraftKings, recently expanding to all 25 states where DraftKings is licensed to operate.
PrizePicks offers free access to Kindbridge services
While Kindbridge has already inked previous partnerships with other sportsbook operators, PrizePicks will be the first operator to provide access to Kindbridge’s clinical services at no initial cost for both PrizePicks players and customer-facing employees. They’ll gain access to problem gaming prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts.
“We are proud to partner with Kindbridge and to be the first operator to cover program costs entirely, removing a significant barrier to access,” said PrizePicks co-founder and CEO, Adam Wexler.
“It’s essential that the fantasy sports industry invests and innovates in the area of responsible gaming. This initiative not only helps players and employees but also strengthens PrizePicks’ role in promoting social responsibility within the industry.” Wexler added. “By addressing both prevention and treatment, we are paving the way for a healthier gaming community.”
PrizePicks noted that individuals often face high out-of-pocket expenses for health care, even with the assistance of insurance.
“It is inspiring to see a DFS operator actively providing essential care resources to their audience. Many individuals struggling with gaming-related health issues face significant financial barriers, even with insurance, which hinders their ability to follow a comprehensive care plan,” said Daniel Umfleet, founder and CEO of Kindbridge Behavioral Health. “This collaboration is a pivotal step toward eliminating these barriers, ensuring people can access the support they need, regardless of their financial situation.”
PrizePicks is quickly expanding and profiles as one of the fastest-growing sports companies in North America.
The DFS operator added a peer-to-peer game to its list of offerings earlier this year.
