New York’s eight online legal sports betting operators continue to enjoy some consistent numbers following the week ending August 27.
The New York Gaming Commission reported a combined handle of $212.2 million for the week, down 9% from the previous period, but the final full week of the month kept revenue very much in line with the two previous weeks.
The Empire State reported revenue of $21.4 million for the week ending August 27, down just less than 1% from last week and up less than 1% from two weeks ago.
Sports betting in New York saw operators enjoy a healthy 10.1% hold for the first double-digit week since the first week of the month. It marked the sixth consecutive week with both a handle of more than $200 million and revenue of over $20 million. Both were up modestly from the same week in 2022, with handle increasing 9% and revenue rising 9.7% year-over-year.
FanDuel tops rival
FanDuel hauled in the best handle of the week at $83.7 million and revenue of $9.8 million. The hold of 11.7% was a point-and-a-half higher than the previous period.
Meanwhile, DraftKings finished second with a hold of 9.8%, generating revenue of $7.4 million on a handle of $75.1 million.
Caesars Sportsbook finished third with a handle of $24.8 million and revenue of $1.6 million, resulting in a 6.4% win rate. BetMGM wasn’t far behind with revenue of $1.3 million on a lesser handle of $14.7 million.
It was a rough week for PointsBet, which will transition to “Fanatics, A PointsBet Experience” later this year in New York. The sportsbook made just $35,830 of revenue on a handle of $3.9 million.
