For the next two years, Sauber will compete as the Stake F1 Team.

This expands the existing 2023 relationship between Sauber and Stake, which includes the naming rights of both the team and the chassis. Sauber will unveil its latest car, C44, with its new moniker on Feb. 5 in London, just weeks before F1 pre-season testing.

Stake is a leading online sports betting and casino operator, known for its ability to accept cryptocurrency. Earlier this year, Stake announced that it was close to making a US acquisition. While that has yet to happen, Stake’s founders have kept busy nurturing a new streaming service, Kick.com, rivaling Twitch.

Additionally, Stake has strong sports and entertainment relationships with the rap star Drake, former football legend Sergio Aguero, Indian Canadian rapper Karan Aujla, and the UFC.

Some races may feature Kick F1 team

While the FIA recognizes Sauber’s official name as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, Sauber will mostly go by Stake F1 Team.

“Sauber has always been about innovation, breaking the mold and defying convention. The partnership with Kick.com is the latest and boldest display of the philosophy that drives us. Kick.com is redefining the way live streaming is done and they will adopt the same disruptive approach in the world of Formula One.”

- Alessandro Alumni Bravi, Sauber managing director

The 2024 F1 Season will kick off with the Bahrain Grand Prix on Feb. 29. The Stake F1 Team will be retaining their 2023 driver lineup, which consists of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.
