As The Mirage casino closed its doors for the final time on Wednesday, its neighbor is welcoming its former customers with open arms.
Treasure Island Hotel & Casino, located on the Las Vegas Strip, is offering exclusive deals to Mirage guests affected by the closure. The offerings include up to 35% off rooms, a 2-for-1 cocktail voucher upon check-in, and a $50 Pool Cabana Credit, which is available Monday through Thursday between April and October.
In addition, anyone who joins the TI Players Club can enjoy a free $30 in slot or table game credits. As part of its commitment to providing a seamless transition for all former Mirage guests, Treasure Island has also said it will match any comp offers the guest has from The Mirage.
End of an era
The Mirage first opened in 1989 and was the world’s most expensive resort at the time, costing $630 million to complete. The hotel was later purchased by MGM Resorts in 2000 and then by Hard Rock International, who bought it for $1.075 billion in 2022 following approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission.
In May of this year, Hard Rock announced its plans to close the casino on July 17, 2024, to begin its transformation into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas. The project is expected to create over 2,500 construction jobs, and Hard Rock expects to complete the transformation by 2027, as everything is to be gutted and rebuilt.
"While we pause for the incredible transformation of this iconic property, I'd like to thank all team members at The Mirage for their incredible commitment and helping us provide memorable experiences for our guests," commented Joe Lupo, President of The Mirage.
