The Toronto Blue Jays got bombed on Opening Day as the Baltimore Orioles blasted six home runs on their way to a 12-2 win.
Will the ball stay in the park on Friday night when Kevin Gausman toes the rubber against Charlie Morton?
My Blue Jays predictions keep digging the long ball with a best bet targeting tonight’s total, plus a tantalizing same-game parlay.

It was a dong party for the Baltimore Orioles on Opening Day. They hit six total home runs, with Adley Rutschman and Cedric Mullins going yard twice apiece. And I expect the balls to keep flying out of Rogers Centre tonight.
For starters, I like the Toronto Blue Jays to join the party. Andres Gimenez hit a home run in his Blue Jays debut, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Anthony Santander, or even Bo Bichette run into one tonight with a nice matchup against Orioles starter Charlie Morton.
The 41-year-old was probably not what Orioles fans had envisioned as a replacement for Corbin Burnes. Morton is coming off a tough season with the Atlanta Braves, where he ranked in the 23rd percentile in expected ERA and 42nd in expected batting average.
You can tell Morton was battling his control last season. He ranked in the 31st percentile in walk rate, and he found too many barrels in his attempt to overcompensate, ending the year in the 19th percentile in barrel rate.
Countering Morton is Kevin Gausman. Gausman will have a bounce-back season in 2025, but — as we saw yesterday — this Orioles lineup is dangerous from top to bottom, and Gausman doesn’t have the best track record against them. Current O’s hitters have a .264 xBA and a .449 xSLG vs. the veteran right-hander.
All this to say, I’m betting we see some more runs tonight, hopefully with the home team doing the bulk of the damage and taking the Over 8.5 on the full-game total.
Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)
So, how are we going to get Over those 8.5 runs?
Let’s start with Bichette. While he hasn’t seen Morton for a couple of seasons, he has great numbers against the veteran, going 5-for-16 with a double and a home run. That’s good for a .271 xBA and a .429 xSLG.
Bichette went hitless on Opening Day but put the bat on the ball well a few times and had a strong spring at the plate.
Getting on base in front of Guerrero, who hopefully will promptly drive him in, is the ideal scenario. Vladdy drove in 103 runs last year and will get No. 1 in 2025 tonight.
The Orioles will also contribute to the scoring (shocking, considering they put up a 12-spot yesterday), and I like Jordan Westburg to stay hot.
The O’s third baseman was one of the players to go deep yesterday and collected another hit and a walk as well. Batting third in this talented Orioles lineup should mean plenty of opportunities for Westburg to rack up the RBI this season.
