The Giants are taking practically all the tickets and money, at 92 percent and 94 percent, respectively. The total dipped from 8 (Under -112) to 7.5 (Under -115) on interesting splits, with 74 percent of tickets on the Over and 78 percent of cash on the Under.

Starting pitchers
Zac Gallen (1-1, 3.04 ERA): Gallen has been out for over a month with a partial UCL tear and he comes into this one having only pitched a short simulated game as a tune-up. The 25-year-old has a world of talent and is the best starter on this team, but these are some difficult circumstances to shake. With that said, it’s hard to really have any clue what version of Gallen we’ll see this afternoon.
Kevin Gausman (7-1, 1.43 ERA): Gausman has made 13 starts for San Francisco this season and the righty has allowed fewer than two earned runs in 11 of those outings. He has looked like a legitimate ace for the Giants all year, as his strikeout numbers are way up and he’s just not getting into trouble all that often. With a matchup against a Diamondbacks team that has lost 22 road games in a row, San Francisco has to be confident here.

Moneyline pick
When the Giants faced the Diamondbacks in Arizona on May 25, Gausman struck out nine batters in five scoreless innings. San Francisco earned an 8-0 victory in that game, and it’s just extremely hard to find a reason to go away from the Giants in this one. The juice might be somewhat alarming, but you don’t exactly have to take it. You can throw San Francisco in a moneyline parlay, or you can go with the -1.5 runline.
Gausman is coming off of an uncharacteristically troubling start, as he gave up two earned runs and was only able to pitch four innings in a loss to the Washington Nationals on June 12. The righty has looked untouchable in a majority of his starts, however, and should be able to bounce back in this one. Arizona isn’t as bad offensively as one would think when looking at its record, but Gausman should be able to do just well enough to help the Giants win.
Also, for as good as Gallen is, it’s just not going to be easy for him to jump back into action and earn a win on the road. San Francisco has a Top-10 scoring offense in baseball and has quite a few guys who are comfortable hitting against righties.
PREDICTION: Giants (-198)
Over/Under pick
If Gallen wasn’t coming into this game after a long injury absence, this 7.5-run total would look a whole lot better from an Under perspective.
These are two incredible pitchers and neither of these offenses has the firepower to really go out and do damage against a superb starter. However, that’s just not the case in this one.
Gallen should be a bit prone to a letdown in his first start back and Gausman also happens to be coming off a game in which he was a bit more vulnerable than usual.
Look for San Francisco to turn in a solid offensive performance against Gallen, and don’t be too caught off guard if Arizona plates a few against Gausman.
